Six little and easy things I always check on my bike before setting off on a ride.
1. Tyres are inflated
2. Chain is oiled
3. Batteries are all charged, do this one the night before
4. Brakes are working properly
5. Wheels spin, don't wobble and don't rub on the brakes
6. Gears are working
1, 2 and 3 you can easily sort out yourself with a pump and some oil.
4, 5 and 6 can be a little more difficult to sort out but luckily there is a local bike shop that can help you with that.

Some hidden issues on bikes this week. The quick release lever had been put back with all the bits in the wrong order and the spring was back to front. The gear cable as you can see was in a bit of a state and only hanging on by three of the wire threads.
