Foxton Bowls Club

Foxton Bowls Club We are a lawn bowls club, situated in Foxton, a small village just to the SW of Cambridge, UK.

Our membership of 26 bowlers, enjoy regular roll ups, but many play in County leagues, such as the Cambridge & District, Foxton Midweek and the Meldreth. We are always happy to receive enquiries from experienced players wishing to join us and those looking to take up the game.

Our first two matches of the 2025 season already successfully completed with two wins in the Foxton Midweek League. We've got a full season ahead of us.

A lot has been done at the club again over the winter and a big thank you to all the volunteers that gave up their time, and to our sponsors that help finance the work.

If you would like to come and have a go at bowling we would love to see you.

The 2024 outdoor bowling season begins!

We’ve spent a lot of time and money working at the club over the winter, replacing ditches, making level the walkways and tidying up around the green. We must give a big thank you to our sponsors who have been very generous this year. Without them we would have struggled to complete the work.
All this before a very busy season ahead of us. The first match, on the 17th April, is the first of 56 league matches we will be playing this year. We have a team in the Cambridge and District League, the Meldreth League and the Foxton Mid-week League. In addition to these matches we enter competitions and hold social events. We have got a lot on, but it’s all good fun. Good luck to all those taking part.
As always, we will welcome anyone that would like to come along and have a go at bowling and meet some of the members. We plan to have an open day for allcomers on Saturday 8th June, but before then you would be welcome to join us during our roll ups. We hold these on most Monday evenings and Thursday afternoons. The 2024 season is just around the corner. Once again we have done a lot of work at the club over the winter. A local contractor, Fabby's Landscaping, has done a great job for us with some of the heavy work and we we are lucky enough to have a few members who have donated their time getting things sorted. A big thank you to them. The work is almost complete and will be by the the start of the season which this year is the 17th April. Thermals may well be required! We have been very fortunate and found some great sponsors this year to help cover some of the cost involved. A big thank you to them too.

The fixtures for the forthcoming season have been set and we have 57 matches arranged in three leagues, so will be entertaining around 400 people over the course of the season. We will be posting the details later. In addition we plan to hold some social events and hopefully involve our sponsors and other local sports clubs to get involved in some joint activities. Watch this space.

A club open day will be held on Saturday 8th of June when all-comers will be welcome to come along and have a go at bowling. However, once the season get under way we would be delighted to welcome anyone who wants to come along, meet the team and have a go.
