One-2-One Personal Training

One-2-One Personal Training Specializing in improving your health, body composition and performance I currently play for Killyleagh YC in the Amateur league.

Peter Strain BSc (Hons) Sports science and Football
In June 2015, I graduated from John Moores University, Liverpool where I studied sports science and football. Whilst studying I continued my interest in football and went on to complete my level 1,2 & 3 in performance analysis through Prozone Sports Ltd and level 1 coaching badge through the IFA. Alongside this I also gained experience as a Stren

gth and conditioning coach working with the academy squads at Crewe Alexandra Football club and the Irish Football Association. As soon as I graduated I continued to broaden my knowledge and gained a qualification of REPS level 3 in Personal Training. I am always seeking to increase my knowledge; continually reading, researching and developing new ideas and I hope to obtain further qualifications over the years. With regards to my own fitness program I like to keep things varied and maintain an active interest in all sports. I have a keen interest particularly in football, which I have been involved with from a very young age. In order to maintain performance I regularly attend the gym specifically involving weight training, plyometrics and conditioning. I am now pursuing a career in health and fitness by setting up as an independent Personal Trainer at One 2 One Physiotherapy. I aim to educate clients through the process of one to one training and make sure every session is tailored with your specific goals in mind whether it be fitness, weight loss, injury rehabilitation and performance. I will offer support for all aspects of health, both inside and outside the gym to help you achieve your current goals and strive to set new ones.

🏃‍♂️ MAY RECAP 🏃‍♀️

What a month it’s been for the One-2-One community! 👏

A major highlight was seeing our One-2-One presence at the Belfast Marathon, with 20 members taking part in relay teams, Coach Morgan completing the full marathon, and Janine taking on the full distance too. What an incredible day for the team!

We also had Kathryn and Shauna complete their first ever half marathon, Gillian take on Trek 26 at the Giant’s Causeway, and Karen smash a new 5K PB at the Ards Runways Race. A special congratulations to Robert, who achieved a new Half Marathon PB this month 🏅

Away from running, Shannon and Nikola took on a HYROX Doubles Sim in Omagh, while Shannon was also crowned our Member of the Month. 🎉

There were some fantastic sporting achievements across the One-2-One community too:

🥊 Another win for Luke, including Fight of the Night
⚽ Abbie selected for the SBYL Select side competing at the SFAI Gaynor Cup
⚽ Cillian crowned league champion with Cliftonville U16s & U18s, finishing the season with an incredible 45 goals
🤸 Tyler qualified to represent Northern Ireland at the Regional Challenge Cup Final in July

And a special mention to Baz, who celebrated his 50th birthday and reached the incredible milestone of 500 sessions at One-2-One in the same month! 🎂💪

It’s always inspiring to see what our members achieve both inside and outside the gym. Whether it’s a first event, a personal best, a sporting success or a major milestone, we’re proud to be part of the journey.

Here’s to another great month ahead!

🏆 Member of the Month – Shannon Collins 🏆

Shannon has been a fantastic example of what can be achieved through consistency, commitment, and trusting the process. Her progress over the past year has been incredible, not only in terms of physical results but also the challenges she has taken on and the confidence she has built along the way.

Here’s what Shannon had to say about her experience with

“Since committing to the gym and staying consistent, I’ve completely transformed my body composition, built muscle mass, and become the strongest and healthiest version of myself — both physically and mentally.

Taking up running pushed me even further outside my comfort zone. From races and half marathons to HYROX doubles events, I’ve discovered I’m capable of far more than I ever believed.

One-to-one coaching has genuinely changed my life. It’s helped me build consistency, confidence, and discipline, and I’m now preparing for my biggest challenge yet — the Dublin Marathon later this year.

The biggest achievement isn’t just the results. It’s doing things I never thought I would and proving to myself what’s possible with the right support, structure, and commitment.”

April was a massive month at

From competitions and race days to personal milestones and the incredible commitment shown during our 42 Strong Challenge, the effort from our members this month has been unreal. We’re proud of every single person showing up, putting in the work, and pushing themselves to new levels.

A few standout moments from April 👇

🏃‍♀️ Caitlin Moucka competing in HYROX in Cardiff for the 1st time in the solo division, especially impressive considering she only started running at the beginning of the year and entered this on late notice.

⚽ Cillian earning another cap for Northern Ireland and being named MOTM against Uzbekistan during their trip to Macedonia.

🥇 Tyler taking 1st place in a local trampoline competition.

⚽ Summer stepping up to play a year above for the older SBYL Select team in the All-Ireland Inter League, topping their group before going on to win the final.

💪 Coach Peter taking on HYROX Solo in Malaga.

🏆 Huge congratulations to David Hilary, winner of the 42 Strong Challenge:
• 9.4kg down
• 7.9% body fat reduced
• 8.7kg body fat mass lost
• Only 0.5kg muscle lost
What a transformation 👏

🇵🇱 Nikola and Shannon completing their first HYROX doubles race together in Warsaw.

🚴‍♂️ Our first ever One-2-One social cycle, great turnout and even better craic.

🥊 More fights and experience under the belt for Luke at the JB Promotions Pro/Am show.

🥇 Big shoutout to Chris Edwards for picking up April Member of the Month. Thoroughly deserved

The standard being set by our members continues to rise month after month. It’s not just about competing either. For the majority myself included, it’s about bettering themselves — getting fitter, stronger, healthier, more confident, and showing up consistently despite busy lives, work and family commitments. Every bit of hard work matters, and none of it goes unnoticed.

What a day at the Belfast Marathon

The atmosphere was electric — one of those days where the whole city comes together. The support out on the course was unreal from start to finish.

Massive congratulations to everyone who took part.

We had 4 relay teams out representing — brilliant effort across the board.

A special mention to coach .maneely and member for completing the full marathon 👏🏽.

An extra special mention to the wife , hitting her furthest distance to date with the half marathon. Big milestone… and somehow still had enough left in the tank for her first ever night in Thompson’s 😂

And a big shoutout to my good mate — huge PB, crossing in 2:38. Different level 🔥

Member of the Month — Chris Edwards

Big congrats to Chris — fully deserved. He’s had a brilliant month, and it’s built off the consistency and work he’s put in over the past couple of years.

Here are Chris’ biggest achievements so far:

Consistent training for the last two years means I feel in the best shape I’ve been for a long time. I recently took part in 42 strong and noticed the changes in body composition, I’m looking better and feeling good.

I’ve enjoyed the variety of the training and input of the coaches, as I’ve learned and developed skills with free weights that I wouldn’t have just going to a gym on my own.

The benefits of this are staying healthy and injury free and being able to engage and enjoy life, recently I had the opportunity to run Omagh half marathon at the last minute, and even though I’d not practiced the distance, the time at the gym gave me the strength, endurance and confidence to go out and enjoy it.
