We loved to be part of this year's Newquay Women's County Championships this weekend. Our girls did great, coming 2nd in their first heat moving up to the quarter finals, and achieving 3rd in their quarter final heat!

More locally yesterday, we had 2 crews including our juniors have fun racing in the Bideford water festival

What an awesome day at Clovelly Regatta yesterday! ☀️ The sunshine was out, the atmosphere was absolutely on point, and it was a fantastic day of racing for the club! 💙

Wooohoo! What a weekend!

The very first GigRower European Championships will be one we'll never forget. From the racing to the atmosphere, the laughter, the sunshine (a little too much at times! ☀️😂).

We're proud of every single Torridge crew that took to the water:
🥈 Men's Masters – SILVER! 2nd out of 16
💪 Men's Vets – 10th out of 19
👏 Ladies Supervets – 18th out of 30
🥉 Ladies Seniors – 3rd in Category C and 27th out of 70 boats overall

A huge thank you to everyone who worked so hard to organise such an incredible first European Championships. It was a fantastic event and you should all be immensely proud of what you've created.
To our competitors, coxes, towers, supporters and everyone who cheered us on, thank you. And an extra special thanks to those who packed spare suncream and shared it around with those of us who clearly didn't get the memo about the heatwave! 😅

Weekends like this remind us why we love this sport so much. We came home tired, a little sunburnt, but with full hearts and memories that will last a lifetime.

🎉 Wow! We’ve just reached an incredible milestone. 1,000 followers! 🎉

What makes this even more special is that it reflects the amazing journey our club has been on. We've welcomed new faces and grown our membership by nearly 20% compared to this time last year, had more success racing across multiple age categories, and seen more support, encouragement and engagement from our community than ever before.

Whether you're a member, supporter, sponsor, family member, former rower, friend, or someone who simply enjoys following our adventures, thank you. Every like, comment, share and word of encouragement helps us showcase everything that makes our club special.

Being able to share memorable moments with such a wide community is awesome! Thank you everyone 🤗

🎉 Congratulations Emma! 🎉

A huge well done to Emma Taylor on successfully passing her coxing assessment and becoming Torridge Pilot Gig Club's latest qualified Cox! 👏🚣‍♀️

Emma is a valued member of our Ladies A crew, where she demonstrates commitment, teamwork and determination both on and off the water. Alongside her rowing, she also volunteers with Appledore RNLI, dedicating her time to supporting and safeguarding others within our coastal community.

Coxes are an essential part of our club to allow us to have regular rows across racing categories and to allow for social and development rows. In May alone we had 112 boats out on the water! We are extremely thankful for everyone that puts their name forward to cox, often multiple times a week.

Congratulations Emma, a fantastic achievement and thoroughly deserved! 🌊🚣‍♀️💙
