The Appledore & Instow Regatta is a celebration of all things maritime with a week of events organised for all to enjoy and where possible are encouraged to take part and have fun. Various events are organised throughout the Regatta week including:

Regatta Opening Day, Art Show, Crabbing Competition, Fishing Competition, Flour Battle, Sailing Boat Race, Gig Boat Racing, Greasy Pole, Model Yacht R

acing, Outboard Motor Race, Pilot Gig Race, Rowing, Sculling over the stern and the Tug of War, with a variety of other activities and local stall holders. As with previous years, the ongoing support from the RNLI - Appledore Lifeboat Crews will be ever present during the Regatta and we thank them for their continued support. 🦀🦀 After yesterday's amazing regatta day we look forward to welcoming you all to the annual world championship crabbing contest on Wednesday 12th August! Registration starts from 4.30pm with the contest to start at 5.30pm. Could you be the next team to become crabbing champions! We look forward to seeing you! 🦀🦀

Today is the day for appledore and instow regatta! The setting up is on and lots of stalls to come and have a look at. The greasy pole is ready and greased up for anyone who would like to take part! All activities kicks off at 13.00pm. come on down and enjoy the fun

2days to go! The greasy pole is down alongside the quay ready to be greased on the day, the bouys are all set ready to be put down for the course for the rowers and the cakes are coming along nicely. The fun starts from 1pm Sunday! RNLI Appledore Lifeboat Station will be coming alongside the quay for everyone to have a look around! Lots of stalls along the quay including some beautiful vintage clothing with Jennie Braid Lamb and Appledore Pirates will be there selling all piratey essentials! And don't forget lunch down on the quay with Jeff's famous BBQ! Tea coffee soft drinks and cakes will also be there for pudding! We hope to see you all there.

4 days till regatta day! The weather looks glorious! Lots of activities to get involved in what better way to spend your Sunday then coming along and cheering all the rowers on, see all the amazing stall holders that are joining us! If that's not enough why not come along to join in with the other water activities we have coming up! Think you can beat the greasy pole by getting to the end and knocking off the can, if not come along and try out the water jousting or get involved in the boat of rug of war! So many activities and things to do. RNLI Appledore Lifeboat Station will be coming along to do a water display with their new lifeboat! Appledore Pirates Jennie Braid Lamb will be there with their stalls plus many more , cake stall and an amazing bbq for lunch??
Plenty of parking at skern lodge field that will have Northam Lions Football Club to welcome you for a small donation and a program should you need one :-D we look forward to welcoming you all!

With only 10 days left till the big day, everything is coming along to make this a great regatta!
We have gig sprints starting us off from 13.00 with gigs coming from appledore, torridge, Barnstaple , bude, boscastle,clovelly, harbour,ilfracombe and porlock weir! We have plenty more events through out the day(will post in another post) Plenty of stalls across the quay including Jeff's bbq amazing cakes to have to enjoy or to take home for afternoon tea! Plenty of parking at skern lodge field from 11am donations welcome for Northam Lions Football Club will be great fully appreciated!

Appledore and instow regatta will be kicking off on August 9th this year, this is going to be an amazing day with gig rowing, dragon boat races miller and sweep and our legendary greasy pole! If you or anyone you know would love to come along and have a go at the greasy pole or to make up a team and enter the dragon boat races please give us a message and we can sort it out for you! There will be lots of stalls along the quay, including a BBQ and cake stall, Appledore Pirates Jennie Braid Lamb will be there with some amazing vintage clothing and lots more, if you are interested in having a stall to sell some of your amazing creations then please do get in touch!
