Training every Sunday 10:00am - 12:00pm Balgownie Playing Fields AB22 8LX The Aberdeen Roughnecks AFC are a modern-thinking American Football club that intend on continuing and expanding what the original Granite City Oilers team started. The Roughnecks are an incorporated co-op, run by it's members for the benefit of the local community. To meet and exceed the expectations of

the league, players, coaches and supporters, we rely on meticulous planning, hard work and the valued support of our sponsors. The project began in October 2011 with a small group of like-minded people intent on starting a football team in Aberdeen. In a matter of months a full committee was formed and considerable interest was shown by potential players. We are now in a strong position to continue our growth as a member of the BAFA National Leagues, with a youth development system also starting to make waves in Aberdeen. If you are an old Granite City Oiler interested in getting back to the sport in some form - or a rookie looking to see what it's all about, then like our pages to keep up to date! If you want to come along and give it a shot and train, we are open to all abilities. Training details can be found by messaging our pages. This picture is what it looks like to have two teams who are rivals on the pitch but made amazing things happen before and after. Both clubs are truly dedicated to seeing American Football succeed across the country.

Newcastle Vikings American Football were instrumental in helping us secure our home games in Aberdeen and we are very grateful to this terrific club and amazing bunch of guys who made the trip!

As a club with a lot of Rookies and guys who are in their second year, playing a quality team like Newcastle has given our guys an amazing insight and learning opportunity.

We are really looking forward to the reverse fixture down in Newcastle on the 6th June!
