Hurja Piruetti -Länsi-Uudenmaan Tanssiopisto on tanssitaiteen perusopetusta antava ja esiintymistoimintaa järjestävä oppilaitos. Vuosittain etenevää ja tavoitteellista tanssinopetusta on annettu Karjaalla vuodesta 1995. Opetuksemme lähtökohtana on tanssin ilon välittäminen ja liikeilmaisun painottaminen opetuksessamme. Tavoitteenamme on tarjota oppilaillemme tietoa ja taitoa tanssista monimuotoise

na taidemuotona. Hurja Piruetti on Suomen Tanssioppilaitosten Liiton jäsen. Tervetuloa Tanssimaan! Hurja Piruetti Västra-Nylands Dansinstitut är en dansskola som ger grundfärdigheter i danskonst och uppträdande. Den upprätthålls av en stödförening som fungerar i Raseborgs distriktet. Vi har lärt ut dans nu över tio år och varje år har vi utvecklat både skolan och vår undervisning. Undervisningens utgångspunkt är att framhäva dansens och rörelsens glädje. Vi vill erbjuda våra elever information och kunskap om dans som en mångfasetterad konst. Hurja Piruetti är medlem i Förbundet för Finlands Dansläroinrättningar. Välkommen med att dansa!

How do observations leave traces in movement? 🍀

In this D4EA workshop, we returned to the images, sounds, and small details we had noticed in the environment during our previous session. Each dancer began by creating movement from their own observations. The material was then repeated, shared with others, adapted, and gradually shaped into short compositions.

At the end of the workshop, we brought these small pieces together and moved back outdoors. The dancers performed brief, improvised interventions in different parts of the town. They lasted only a few moments, yet each one left a trace in its surroundings just as the surrounding environment had already left its trace on our creative process.

Kom och testa stepp tillsammans med ett hurja gäng. Vi erbjuder tre lektioner i veckan med underbara Davey van Pas ✨

Onsdagar:

What happens when we slow down for a while? 🌼

In the second D4EA workshop, we left the dance studio and spent time in the nearby natural environment. Before going outside, we worked in the studio, taking time to stop, listen, and look more carefully. Then we continued outdoors, paying attention to things we would normally walk past, small details, discarded objects, and the traces people leave behind.

One of the starting points for this workshop came from Shoji Yamasaki’s work. We looked at litter not only as rubbish but also as evidence of human activity, and we collected it along the way. Littering and climate change are not the same issue, but both raise questions about how we use natural resources and the impact our everyday actions have on the environment.

D4EA 🌱 Our second meeting continued from where we had left off in the first meeting. This time, we explored the theme further through shared discussion and video work. The conversations revealed how differently young people relate to the same topic. Some spoke openly about their concerns for the future, while others said they preferred not to think about climate change very often.

Both perspectives were equally valuable, and it was precisely this diversity of experiences that made the discussions so meaningful.

The videos were not simply documentation but part of our shared artistic process. We will return to them in the following workshops through movement, improvisation, and choreographic work, allowing the dancers’ own thoughts and experiences to continue shaping the artistic process.
