a. Acostarse boca arriba sobre el T-BOW®, gracias a su alta sensibilidad propioceptiva, evita que la columna se hunda, permitiendo que las vértebras parcialmente bloqueadas reciban presión movilizadora que promueve la lordosis lumbar anatómica natural.

Sequence Focusing on Core-Stability Training with T-BOW®

Core-Stability training using the T-BOW®️is essential for stabilizing the spine, improving posture and preventing back pain.

The T‑BOW® enables very fine postural adjustments accessible to many people, thanks to its high reactivity and unique axis of instability. As a result, sessions are more motivating, multifunctional and distinctly different from traditional classes.

In the example, coach Saša Nocerino demonstrates a sequence focused on core stability, prioritizing:
T‑BOW® unstable: standing balances with asymmetrical and symmetrical T‑Band actions, followed by dynamic contrast relaxation for the legs.
T‑BOW® stable: supine and lateral positions with asymmetrical and symmetrical T‑Band actions, followed by dynamic contrast relaxation for the shoulder girdle.

A strong core transfers force between the upper and lower body, optimizing athletic performance and reducing the risk of injury. It includes the deep abdominal, lumbar, and pelvic muscles, and the T-BOW®️ makes all of this possible, given the opportunities this fantastic tool offers!

Foot Work on Pilates Reformer OPTIMIZED with T-BOW® adapted to Spine’s Natural Lumbar Lordois

The T-BOW® ensures safe and stable fixation of the lumbar spine, effectively preventing the harmful “yo-yo” effect, especially in the critical area between L5 and S1 (Blandine Calais-Germain, 2010). This phenomenon is often triggered by repeated leg extensions and flexions on the Reformer.
When these extension-flexion exercises in Pilates reformer are performed with poor technique, the T-BOW® can be a healthy aid for the spine, preventing the « yo-yo » effect.
When these extension-flexion exercises in Pilates reformer are to be performed with high intensity and/or heavy loads, the T-BOW® will provide safe and stable support for the spine, preventing the « yo-yo » effect.

None of the Pilates barrels replicate the natural anatomical lumbar lordosis of healthy adults. For reference, some Merrithew/Stott models have the following arches: Stability Barrel 79.6°; Arch Barrel and Arch Barrel Deluxe 117°; Stability Barrel Lite 76.7°; Spine Corrector 170°.
Would you use any of these Pilates barrels on the Reformer to provide natural stability to the lumbar lordosis?

The unique design of the T-BOW®, with a 40° arc in the synthetic fiber (HDPE) version and a 45° arc in the wooden version, is designed to match the typical lumbar lordosis—approximately 40–50° in healthy adults.

Tip: No apparatus is needed to achieve healthy limits of spinal mobility; however, typical benches and plinths or very inexpensive equipment can facilitate the process.
