RACE WEEKEND – PORTIMÃO 🇵🇹😎

After a fantastic weekend at Le Mans, where three Formula Racing drivers stepped onto the famous podium, we’re back in action for Round 5 of the Ferrari Challenge Europe at Portimão – one of the most spectacular circuits on the calendar. The 4.653-kilometre track is renowned for its dramatic elevation changes, blind corners and fast, flowing layout, while high summer temperatures are expected to make conditions even more demanding.

“It’s great to be back in the Ferrari Challenge paddock after a fantastic weekend at Le Mans earlier this summer. We’re expecting a tough weekend, not least because of the high temperatures, which will put both the drivers and the crew to the test. We’ve now entered the second half of the season, so things are starting to heat up in the championship as well. We have several drivers in strong positions, and most importantly, we’re right in the fight for the team championship, which is our ultimate goal to win,” says Race & Event Executive at Formula, Thor Qualmann.

Six Formula Racing drivers will take on Portimão this weekend. Niklas Abrahamsen – a promising young talent from Norway – makes his Ferrari Challenge debut in Trofeo Pirelli, while Japan’s Nobuhiro Imada lines up in Trofeo Pirelli Am.

In Coppa Shell, Canadian Eric Cheung – who heads into the weekend fourth in the standings – is back on track, while Denmark’s Henrik Kamstrup returns to action in Coppa Shell Am. Kamstrup will be joined by Masaru Yoneda (Japan) and Charles Chan (Hong Kong), who have both enjoyed strong seasons so far and currently sit fourth and third in the championship, respectively.

LOOKING BACK AT LE MANS 🇫🇷

Formula Racing returned from the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe with four podium finishes and valuable championship points after round four of the Ferrari Challenge Europe season, held as part of the world-famous 24 Hours of Le Mans weekend.

The strongest results came from American driver Blake McDonald and Japan’s Masaru Yoneda, who both secured back-to-back podium finishes. McDonald finished second in both Trofeo Pirelli Am races, while Yoneda claimed two runner-up results in Coppa Shell Am to continue his strong run of form this season.

Formula Racing also celebrated a class pole position courtesy of Belgian newcomer Enzo Ide in Trofeo Pirelli Am. Ide converted his strong qualifying pace into a top-10 finish in Race 1 before misfortune struck in the second race. Danish brothers Anders and Jacob Bidstrup both collected valuable championship points throughout the weekend, while Japanese driver Nobuhiro Imada secured consistent finishes in a highly competitive field.

In Coppa Shell, Canadian driver Eric Cheung continued his points-scoring streak with fifth and sixth-place finishes, while Danish driver Henrik Kamstrup bounced back from a difficult opening race to secure a strong fifth-place finish in the final race of the weekend.

The results leave Anders Bidstrup, Eric Cheung and Masaru Yoneda all fourth in their respective championship standings and still within reach of the championship podium positions. Formula Racing also preserved its position in the Teams’ Championship and now trails the championship leaders by 10 points.

“First of all, congratulations to all our drivers, who fought their way through the highlight of the season and secured valuable championship points, especially our podium finishers. Le Mans did not disappoint. It is an iconic venue with hundreds of thousands of fans, an incredible atmosphere, and a legendary event to be part of. The Ferrari Challenge field played its part in creating a fantastic show, and we leave Le Mans with great memories and important points for the championship,” says Thor Qualmann, Race & Event Executive at Formula Racing.

The next round of Ferrari Challenge Europe takes place at Portimão, Portugal, on July 18-19.

RACE WEEKEND – LE MANS 🇫🇷🤩

Formula Racing has arrived at one of the most iconic venues in world motorsport as round four of the Ferrari Challenge Europe season takes place at the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe – better known simply as Le Mans! The 13.6-kilometre circuit returns to the Ferrari Challenge calendar for the sixth time in the series’ history and for the first time since 2023.

As part of the build-up to the world-famous 24 French classic – won by Ferrari in each of the past three years – Ferrari Challenge competitors will once again get the opportunity to race on the legendary iconic circuit. This year’s event features two sprint races instead of the traditional single race, giving drivers two opportunities to fight for championship points on motorsport’s biggest stage.

“There is no doubt that this is the highlight of the season. We’ve been looking forward to it, and so have the drivers. Le Mans is the most famous race track in the world, the longest circuit on our calendar and also the event with the largest crowd. The atmosphere here is incredible, and it’s a huge privilege to be part of the most legendary race in motorsport. Some of our drivers have been here before, while others are experiencing it for the first time. It’s a challenging weekend, with a lot to learn in a very short amount of time before the racing begins,” says Thor Qualmann, Race & Event Executive at Formula Racing.

Formula Racing is represented by eight drivers at Le Mans. In the Pirelli Am class, Danish brothers Anders – who arrives at Le Mans with strong momentum after securing his maiden Ferrari Challenge victory in the previous round in Austria – and Jacob Bidstrup are joined by Japan’s Nobuhiro Imada as well as newcomers Enzo Ide from Belgium and Blake McDonald from the United States.

The Shell Am class features Japan’s Masaru Yoneda and Denmark’s Henrik Kamstrup, who celebrated a podium finish at Le Mans with a strong second-place result in 2023. In Coppa Shell, Canada’s Eric Cheung continues his campaign after an impressive start to the season.

The action is already underway, with the two practice sessions having taken place on Wednesday. Qualifying gets underway on Thursday before Race 1 later in the evening, while Race 2 will be contested on Saturday morning ahead of the start of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

RED BULL RING SUCCESS 🇦🇹🏆

Formula Racing continued its strong momentum in Ferrari Challenge Europe this past weekend as the Danish squad celebrated an impressive weekend at Austria’s Red Bull Ring with one victory and four additional podium finishes across the third round of the 2026 season.

The highlight came in Saturday’s Trofeo Pirelli race, where Danish driver Anders Bidstrup claimed a superb class victory after starting from the front row. Fellow Dane Jacob Bidstrup also completed a strong race for Formula Racing by securing third place – meaning both brothers shared the podium together!

In Coppa Shell Am, Hong Kong driver Charles Chan secured pole position before claiming two second-place finishes across the weekend, while Japanese driver Masaru Yoneda added another podium result with third place in Saturday’s race. Danish driver Henrik Kamstrup showed promising pace before retiring from the opening race and later fighting back to finish Sunday’s race in 11th place.

In Coppa Shell, Hong Kong driver Eric Cheung continued his strong season with valuable points-scoring finishes in fifth and seventh place, while Japanese driver Ken Seto also secured important championship points with sixth and seventh-place finishes.

The results move Anders Bidstrup up to fourth in the Trofeo Pirelli Am standings, while Eric Cheung remains third in Coppa Shell. Charles Chan now sits second overall in the Coppa Shell Am championship, and Formula Racing has climbed to second place in the teams’ standings – just nine points from the championship lead.

“Fantastic results from the entire team, both the drivers and the crew in the garage. Seeing both Bidstrup brothers on the podium together – with Anders taking victory – was a special moment for all of us and shows what dedication and hard work can achieve,” says Race & Event Executive at Formula Racing, Thor Qualmann.

The next round of Ferrari Challenge Europe takes place at the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe during the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans weekend.

RACE WEEKEND – RED BULL RING 🇦🇹😎

After strong performances in the opening two rounds of the Ferrari Challenge Europe season, Formula Racing heads to Austria this weekend for round three of the championship at the iconic Red Bull Ring. Last seen on the Ferrari Challenge Europe calendar in 2023, the 4.318-kilometre Austrian circuit presents a demanding challenge for both drivers and the Ferrari 296 Challenge machinery.

“Red Bull Ring is a fantastic venue in stunning surroundings and a circuit which suits the Ferrari Challenge series really well. Once again, we have a very strong lineup of drivers who have all shown strong pace in the opening rounds, and we’re highly motivated to continue the positive momentum and secure more valuable points for both the drivers’ and team championships,” says Race & Event Executive at Formula, Thor Qualmann.

Formula Racing will once again field an impressive nine-driver lineup across three classes. In the Pirelli Am class, Danish brothers Anders and Jacob Bidstrup line up alongside Japan’s Nobuhiro Imada.

The Coppa Shell Am class features Denmark’s Henrik Kamstrup, Japan’s Masaru Yoneda and Hong Kong’s Charles Chan. Kamstrup in particular has enjoyed an excellent opening to the season and currently sits among the top drivers in the championship battle.

In Coppa Shell, Japan’s Ken Seto joins former series champion Eric Cheung, who has continued his strong comeback season with front-running pace in the first two rounds and remains firmly in contention near the top of the standings.
