Pan Am Place is a transitional home for young men in Winnipeg who are at-risk of homelessness or close to it. Residents earn their stay: chores, cooking, and training in the gym every week. For a lot of guys, it’s the first real structure they’ve ever had.
For Tyrone, the gym is where discipline stops being a word and becomes a habit. You show up. You do the rounds. You do them again the next day. Boxing gives our residents somewhere to put the energy that used to land them in trouble.
Training is only part of the picture. The other half is the people. Staff who notice when something’s off. Guys down the hall who’ve been in the same place and will tell you the truth about it. Nobody here is doing it alone, and that’s the whole design.
