Clover Point parkrun #400
October 31st, 2026

Wow. Our 400th parkrun, on Halloween, and a lovely calm (and dry!) day as well? Talk about lucking out! We tied our attendance record of 202 participants, many of them costumed, as we celebrated All Hallows Eve down at Clover Point this morning.

A hearty welcome to our 14 first time parkrunners and the 4 of you who completed our course for the first time - but we feel it's only fair to point out there are not normally cookies, treats and other baked goods every week. Sorry, eh. We'd like to congratulate the 21 of you who set new PBs, our first finishers Harrison Elliott (17:41) and Natalia Seal (21:42), and Carol Ramsey (100) and Marcia Stromsmoe (200) for completing significant milestones. Well done to all of you!

We continue to be amazed by your community spirit, attitude and friendly nature. Here's to the next 400! 🎃

The times they are a’ changing!

As B.C., Alberta and parts of Manitoba prepare to stay with permanent Daylight Savings Time this fall and winter, we wanted to let you know that starting November 6th and lasting until February 27th, 2027, all four Vancouver Island parkruns will be starting a half hour later at 9:30 instead of 9:00.

Clover Point parkrun # 399
October 24, 2026

It was a "seasonally typical" day down at the point, with a bit of a breeze and some moisture in the air. But our 153 participants and 19 volunteers sure didn't mind! We were joined by 12 people completing their very first parkrun, and a further 10 completing our course for the first time, including tourists from Australia, England, Ontario, the US and across BC. Welcome!

Congratulations are in order to our 16 participants who achieved new PBs, our first finishers Jack Spurr (17:45) and Heather MacDonald (20:34), as well as our bumper crop of parkrunners who achieved new milestones. Hearty well done to Marcia Stromsmoe (250), Nick van der Westhuizen (200), Will Ansbacher (200), Karen Smallwood (100) and Richard Yeomans (50) who all achieved milestones today.

We were also blessed with not one, but two photographers out there today - thanks to both Joseph and Gunnar for the fantastic photos. We have included a few here, but more are on our Google Photo site at the link below.

Clover Point parkrun #398

After the high of last weekend's spectacular weather, it was a return to more "normal" fall weather at Clover Point, as a brief shower and steady wind greeted our 167 participants. Vibes were almost as high as the paragliders, as first finishers Tristan Villecroze and Natalia Seal raced around the course in 16:40 and 22:12, respectively, to lead a healthy 18 new PBs.

We had 9 participants who completed the course for the first time, and a fabulous 17 completed their very first parkrun. Welcome to all of you! Congratulations also go out to Wayne Friebe for completing his 25th parkrun milestone - well done, Wayne.

Clover Point parkrun # 397

It's a two-fer today, as we catch up from last week...🤪

We welcomed 167 participants to our pre- parkrun. There were a fantastic 40 participants joining us for the first time, and the weather cooperated with a calm, slightly overcast day. Well done to our 13 participants who recorded new PBs, and to Alicia Wilson (25) for achieving a milestone.
