What a fantastic weekend at the Sophie LaVerdière Clinic at Sumac Farms!

Over the course of the weekend, Sophie challenged us not only in our riding skills but also in our showing skills as we prepare for the upcoming show season. Every rider came away with valuable tools, fresh perspectives, and plenty to think about as we continue our journey with our horses.

A huge thank you to Sophie for her guidance, encouragement, and ability to push us outside our comfort zones while keeping learning fun and productive. We are grateful for the time, knowledge, and experience she shared with all of us.

We were also blessed with non dramatic weather, great horses, and an amazing group of people who made the weekend such a success. The friendships, laughter, support, and willingness to learn made the weekend even more special.

Thank you to everyone who participated.

As the weekend wraps up, we want to send a huge thank you to Josh Tishman for an incredible few days at Sumac Farms.

The riders learned so much, the horses improved with every session, and there were plenty of “There you go!” moments all weekend long. We’re grateful for Josh’s patience, knowledge, encouragement, and the positive atmosphere he brought to the barn.

Wishing Josh a safe journey home and hoping we’ll have him back in Nova Scotia again soon! ✈️🐴

Day one of the first full day clinic with Josh Tishman is in the books!

The riders all came away happy with what they learned, with plenty of lightbulb moments throughout the day. Josh has a great way of making things click and giving everyone something practical to take home and work on.

And perhaps most importantly… the horses were pretty pleased to finally spot the “open door” at the end of the day too 😅🐴

Looking forward to another full day of riding, learning, and good laughs tomorrow!

What a great afternoon of lessons — huge thumbs up from & to all the students! 👏

One of Josh’s comments at the end of the day was that “everybody picked up what he was putting down,” which is always the sign of a really productive clinic and a group eager to learn.

And of course, we made sure Josh got the full Pictou County welcome for supper tonight… lobster and pizza 🍕🦞 — it doesn’t get much more local than that!

Looking forward to a full weekend of great riding, good laughs, and lots more learning ahead at Sumac Farms
