☀️ ROVING REPORT #2 — THE SUN IS OUT! ☀️

What a difference a few hours makes! The sun is shining and the paid times are well underway. 🐴

The stalls are almost full, with just a few competitors still to arrive later.

A HUGE shoutout to Matt VanZutphen, Isabelle Denis and Corina Breen — absolute heroes taking on the parking operation and doing their very best to keep vehicles, trailers and campers above the mud line! 😂👏

Our team of young entrepreneurs have been hard at work too — meeting new arrivals, helping them unpack and hauling all their gear to the barns. 💪🐴

Behind the scenes, all of our farm staff have been working their tails off to get everything ready and keep things running smoothly despite everything Mother Nature has thrown at us!

And a special shoutout to our Platinum Sponsor Dave Barker, who came flying in with gravel to help shore up some of those muddy gateways. Talk about perfect timing! 👏

An equally huge thank you to our amazing competitors. Everyone has been incredibly cooperative, patient and good-humoured as we get everybody parked, unloaded and settled in.

The grounds might be a little soggy… but Sumac Slide 2026 is officially coming to life! ❤️🐴

🎤 SUMAC SLIDE ROVING REPORT — WET & WILD EDITION! 🌧️🐴🚐

Well… it’s been a slightly soggy start to the day at Sumac Farms! 😂

There’s been a LOT of horse shuffling, stall shuffling, reshuffling of the shuffled stalls… and somehow we’re getting everybody tucked in! 🐴

Meanwhile, out in camper land, we’ve witnessed some VERY creative parking as everyone attempts to avoid sinking into what was formerly known as the grass field. 😂🚐💦

Four-wheel drive skills are being tested, boots are getting muddy, and plans are changing by the minute — but everyone is pitching in and making it work!

The good news? The horses are arriving, the campers are finding homes, and the Sumac Slide is coming together! 🙌

Stay tuned for the next Roving Report… at this rate, it may be delivered by canoe. 🛶😂

🐴❤️ There’s Always Time for Our Special Visitors! ❤️🐴

Despite all the hustle and bustle and preparations happening around Sumac Farms as we get ready for the Sumac Slide, we still made time this week for some very important visitors!

We welcomed our regular friends from Riverview Home Corporation, who are always a highlight around the farm, and we were also delighted to have visitors from High Crest Seniors Home join us. 🥰

No matter how busy show preparations get, sharing the horses and the farm with our community is something we’re always happy to make time for.

🐴 What a season so far for Sumac InLovingMemory! 🐴

Memory continues to make us incredibly proud, putting together a show season that has already included TWO Derby wins, along with AQHA points, NRHA earnings and Ranch class prizes! 🏆💰

From the reining pen to the ranch classes, she has stepped up wherever we’ve asked her to, with some fantastic scores, personal bests and plenty of exciting moments along the way.

That wasn’t enough for one year… she also managed to make a baby! ❤️

While Memory has been busy collecting ribbons, points and earnings, her good friend Alice has very kindly taken on the important job of carrying Memory’s baby to term. 🥰🐴

Group Two are IN and the leaders are OUT! 🐴👏

These jockeys are flying solo, putting everything they’ve learned into practice and getting acquainted with the fine art of horsemanship.

Steering, stopping, remembering where they’re supposed to be going… and convincing their four-legged partners that this was, in fact, the plan all along! 😂
