Pictou County Scotians Junior B Team

Pictou County Scotians Junior B Team Member of the NSJHL. 2017 NSJHL Champions. The Scotians have played in the in the NSJHL for the over 20 yrs.

The original team was known as the Station House Icemen prior to Subway coming on as a major sponsor and the team was renamed as the Pictou County Subways before becoming the Scotians.

The 2025/2026 NSJHL MVP for the second straight season is Lane Lochead!

In 26 games this season Lane has scored 19 times and added 41 assists for a league leading total of 60 points! Congratulations Lane on another outstanding season, and being recognized once again as the Leagues Most Valuable Player!

The Pictou County Scotians are excited to announce the commitment of 2008-born forward, Mathus George.

From New Glasgow, George spent the last three seasons with the Fundy U16 Thunder, Weeks Majors, and North Nova Gryphons. In 60 career NSU16AAAHL games, Mathus scored 33 goals and added 45 assists for 78 points, placing him in a tie for first place in franchise points with the Thunder, tied with current Scotian, Wyatt Spence. George had also suited up for the Weeks Majors for 19 contests, putting up 9 goals and 8 assists for 17 points in those contests. Mathus then joined the North Nova Gryphons where over the course of 33 total games played, he scored 36 goals and added 25 assists for 61 points, just under a 2 point per game pace.

Mathus had signed on with the Scotians mid-season this past year, where in 4 games played he had scored a goal and an assist.

The Pictou County Scotians are excited for the local dynamic scoring talent to commit to our organization moving forward! Welcome, Mathus!

This past Friday, we held our end-of-year banquet and handed out some hardware! Once more, we also recognized our three overaged players who have now completed their Junior hockey careers. Our award recipients were as follows:

Rookie of the Year: Sam Maddison
Top Defensive Player: Eli James
Top Offensive Player: Lane Lochead
Player's Choice: Camdyn Burgess
Scotians Choice: Nate Supryka
Most Valuable Player: Drew MacKinnon

As the 25/26 season ends, we wanted to thank all our players, coaches, volunteers, and supporters for coming along with us this season. The work now begins for the 26/27 NSJHL season!
