These work parties play an important role in preparing Shames for the season ahead by clearing brush and helping keep our terrain in great shape. Whether you're a long-time volunteer or new to Shames, we'd love to have you out.

Our friends at Northern Escape Heli Skiing are hosting a fundraiser for Shames Mountain.

MATCHSTICK PRODUCTIONS PRESENTS: THE WAY OUT

Join us for a special screening of Matchstick Productions’ latest ski film, The Way Out, featuring incredible skiing and breathtaking terrain from the mountains surrounding Terrace, BC, along with spectacular destinations from around the world.

SPECIAL GUEST APPEARANCE
Featured athlete Logan Pehota will be joining us for the evening!
Best of all, all proceeds from the event will go directly to Shames Mountain.

October is finally here, which means it's time to get ready for Brushing Season at Shames Mountain!

This is an opportunity to get involved and make a difference in your community. See the attached poster for all the details you need to know, including dates, times, and what to expect.

Shames Mountain is looking for houses to rent for this upcoming winter. Each winter Shames Mountain rents houses in Terrace and Thornhill to house a number of staff.

This year we are looking for rentals from 15th November to 1st May. If you have a property please email [email protected] to start the conversation.

Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we recognize and reflect on the history, resilience, and ongoing contributions of Indigenous Peoples across Canada.

Shames Mountain is located on the unceded Ts’msyen (Tsimshian) territory. We acknowledge and honour the deep-rooted histories and stewardship of these lands.

Please note that our downtown office will be closed today in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We’ll be back open tomorrow at 11am.

2026/2027 Season Pass Artwork!
We’re excited to share the official artwork for the 2026/2027 Season Pass — a vibrant, locally inspired design created by Eve Hutten.

Eve is a visual artist from rural Nova Scotia whose work spans printmaking, drawing, and oil painting. She spent the 2025/26 season working as a lift operator here at Shames, and her design for this year’s pass is inspired by those unforgettable early‑morning views on the mountain.

Season Passes are now ready for printing! If you’ve already purchased yours, you can pick it up by visiting our Downtown office: Tuesday–Friday | 11:00AM–5:00PM.

We’re proud to feature Eve’s artwork this year and excited to share it with everyone gearing up for another great winter on the mountain.

Thank you to everyone who purchased tickets and supported the raffle.
We'd also like to thank outgoing Board Members Tara Wilson, Megan Dunstall, and Kelly Gingles for their dedication and service to Shames Mountain. Your contributions have helped shape and strengthen our community-owned mountain.
Please join us in welcoming Benn Whitwell, Mark Forgie, and Oliver Guan to the Shames Mountain Board of Directors. We look forward to the perspectives and energy they'll bring to the organization.
