Nine years ago we were just two lil’ babies in love. And now we are bigger with a baby of our own who has your eyes and my attitude, still so, so in love. Thank you for the best years of my life.

On being misunderstood… ft. Nora’s nails and my weird pronunciation of catastrophic

I was fortunate enough to spend a week with my family in the most beautiful, sacred place. I was already recovering from an infection and I caught a cold on the day we arrived. I felt a bit sorry for myself. I also felt guilty for not feeling the joy I usually feel in this place, felt guilty for not being fun vacation mom. But the body does what the body does, and no amount of pushing through was going to work. And amidst the low energy and quietness, the vacation still happened. We still had beach walks and family meals. Played Go Fish and lost a lot (we play by my daughter’s rules and they heavily favour a positive outcome for her). Life kept moving, guilt or no guilt. And I’m sitting here reminding myself of the neutrality of it all, how we are the ones to assign the emotional weight. So I guess I’ll try again next time 🌔

Thinking about the Skeena and all her wisdom. And darling friends who sit next to you as you laugh and cry and throw flowers into the waters. I love living here 🌙

39 years ago, this beauty of a nurse held me in her arms, and the sentimentality of all the water signs in my chart has me reflecting on some things…

🌔 The hair, the outfit. What a time to be alive.
🌓I love how much we know about early attachment now and how part of that family of knowledge keeps babies on the chest instead of in the sink. Still love baths though.
🌒How grateful I am for this life. This ordinary, extraordinary life I fought for, and put together piece by piece. And how I get to share it with the most beautiful souls I’ve ever met.
