The explosion in December was devastating for our members and our community, bringing our curling season to an unexpected and heartbreaking halt.
In a typical year, this is the time when the ice plant would be shut off, the rocks and equipment carefully put away for the summer, plans would be underway for the Oilmens Association annual spring co****le tournament, and we’d already be counting down the days until October—when another curling season begins.
But this year is different.
Our facility remains inoperable, and we still don’t have concrete dates for when we’ll be able to return to the game we love so much—or gather with the people we love even more.
The Taber Curling Club has never been just a place to curl. It’s a place where people come to visit, laugh, volunteer, learn, celebrate milestones, dance, share stories, build lifelong friendships, and support one another. Over the years, our rink has become a true community hub—hosting countless events, celebrations, and gatherings that go far beyond curling. That is what makes it so special.
So here’s a heartfelt cheers from the TCC Board members to everyone who has curled, visited, volunteered, celebrated, laughed, and made memories within these walls. Your support and love for this club means everything to us.
We look forward to the day we can announce when we’ll gather there again. Until then, enjoy your summer, take care of one another, and know that we can’t wait to welcome you back home. 🥌💙
