The Summerside Western Capitals would like to thank Carson Griffin for his contributions to our organization over the past several seasons.

After making appearances with the Capitals during the 2022–23 and 2023–24 seasons, Carson returned to play a full season with the club in 2025–26. Over his Western Capitals career, he appeared in 55 games, recording 11 goals and 10 assists for 21 points while bringing energy, toughness, and commitment to the lineup, recording 99 penalty minutes.

Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and contributions both on and off the ice. We appreciate everything you brought to the Western Capitals organization and wish you all the best in the next chapter of your hockey career.

🔄 TRADE ALERT 🔄

The Summerside Western Capitals have acquired the playing rights of forwards Brody Molloy, Aaron Chipp, and Logan Roop, along with a 2nd-round selection in the 2027 MHL Draft and Future Considerations, from the Miramichi Timberwolves.

In exchange, the Capitals have traded forward Carson Griffin and a conditional 5th-round selection in the 2026 MHL Draft to Miramichi.

Molloy a Baie-Comeau draft pick has just finished three years at Stanstead College, while Chipp played last season with Stanstead College and the Rimouski Oceanic. Roop also played last season with the Rimouski Oceanic.

We are excited to welcome Brody, Aaron, and Logan to the Summerside Western Capitals organization.

We would also like to thank Carson Griffin for his contributions to the Western Capitals organization during our memorable run to the Centennial Cup finals and wish him all the best as he continues his hockey career.

🎓 ICYMI: GRADUATING PLAYER SPOTLIGHT 🏒

As he concludes his junior hockey career, the Summerside Western Capitals are proud to congratulate Simon Mullen on his commitment to continue his hockey and academic journey at the University of Prince Edward Island.

Simon's junior career included three seasons with the Truro Bearcats before joining the Western Capitals during the 2023–24 season. In 2024-25 he was a member of the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL, helping the club capture a league championship and compete at the Memorial Cup.

Returning to Summerside for the 2025–26 season, Simon served as team captain. In 72 games across the regular season, playoffs, and Centennial Cup, he recorded 15 goals and 63 assists for 78 points while helping the Western Capitals capture the MHL regular season title and earn a silver medal at the 2026 Centennial Cup.

His outstanding season was recognized with numerous honours, including CJHL Defenceman of the Year, MHL Defenceman of the Year, and an MHL All-Star.

Congratulations, Simon! Thank you for your leadership, dedication, and contributions to the Western Capitals organization. We wish you all the best as you continue your hockey and academic career with the UPEI Panthers.

🔄 TRADE ALERT 🔄

The Summerside Western Capitals have acquired defenceman Alex Culligan from the Carleton Place Canadians (CCHL) in exchange for Future Considerations.

The 6'3", 191-pound blueliner from Quispamsis, New Brunswick joins the Western Capitals after recording 4 goals, 17 assists, and 21 points in 39 total games last season. The 2007-born defenceman previously suited up for the Saint John Vito's Major U18 program and Mount Academy's U18 Prep team.

Alex brings size, physicality, and valuable junior experience to the Western Capitals' blue line as we continue building for the 2026–27 season.

The Summerside Western Capitals would like to thank Henry Ouellet for his contributions to our organization during the 2025–26 season.

In 50 games with the Western Capitals, Henry recorded 13 goals and 21 assists for 34 points while helping the team capture the Maritime Hockey League regular season title and earn a silver medal at the 2026 Centennial Cup.

Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and commitment to the Western Capitals both on and off the ice. We wish you nothing but success in the next chapter of your hockey career.

The Summerside Western Capitals have traded forward Henry Ouellette and a 5th-round selection in the 2026 MHL Draft to the Truro Bearcats as the completion of a previous trade agreement between the two clubs during the 2025-26 season.

Henry was a valued member of our organization, and we would like to thank him for his contributions both on and off the ice during his time in Summerside.

We wish Henry nothing but success as he continues his hockey career and thank him for his commitment to the Western Capitals.

🚨 NEW SIGNING 🚨

The Summerside Western Capitals are pleased to announce the signing of goaltender Maxence Picard ('07).

The 6'2", 183-pound netminder from Sorel-Tracy, Quebec joins the Capitals from Ridley College (St. Catharines, ON), where he posted a 13-7-4 record, a 1.73 goals-against average, and four shutouts in 24 appearances last season.
