The Summerside Recreational Hockey League, located in Summerside P.E.I. Canada is the oldest Recreational Hockey League east of Montreal. This year marks out 59th year of continuous play in Summerside. On the Weekends of April 2-4 and April 16-18, 2027 we are hosting our 34th Annual Mardi-Gras Recreational Hockey Tournament. We will be able to register a maximum of 100 teams each weekend. Our Men’s division’s will have a max. of 65 teams and the women’s will have a max. of 35. There will be ”C”, “D” “E” “F” and “G” divisions in the men’s as well we are going to have a 40+, 50+ and 60+ Men’s Division’s. The women’s division will have “B” “C” “D” and “E”. You will be placed according to team skill level. So let me know your teams skill level up front, please be as accurate as you can.
Teams should register ASAP, to avoid disappointments. Register ASAP with your Deposit of $375.00 sent in before the deadline. You are not officially Registered until I receive your $375.00 deposit before February 1, 2027. After March 1st your $375.00 deposit is non-refundable. All men’s and women’s teams must send a deposit of $375.00 there are no exceptions for anyone. If I do not receive your team deposit by the deadline you run the risk of your team not being entered in the Mardi-Gras, your remaining $375.00 is due by March 1st.
The Tournament is being hosted in Summerside P.E.I. with all games being played at the Credit Union Place, Slemon Park Arena, Community Gardens, Evangeline Rec. Center, Tyne Valley, Rustico, and Bedeque Rec. Center as well as some games in the Charlottetown area. Tournament play will run from Friday night starting at 5:00 pm, Sat. and Sun ending at 5:00 pm. Local teams will start play Wednesday and Thursday night of each week.
Our 3 Summerside league’s consist of 14 men’s teams and 6 women’s teams which are very recreational, that being said there are some pretty competitive teams that do come to the Mardi-Gras. Your team will be placed in a division that suits your ability. If you’re new to the Mardi-Gras, you will be placed in a specific division. If that division does not suit your team, roll with it for this year. We will adjust your teams division for the following year. Just remember what you are here for, some fun, some pop’s and some nightlife. We don’t need any blowouts or unsportsmanlike play. *** To Register your team go online to www.shockersevents.com , pick the weekend that you want to play, fill out the registration form, send in your deposit, then send me an email to confirm your teams entry. Rest of payment ($375.00) is due before March 1st 2027.
