Last weekend at .of.the.barbarians was so much fun!

The sun was shining, the atmosphere was amazing, and it was a great reminder of how supportive and welcoming the strongman community can be. More than anything, we were incredibly proud of .t.ivy, , and for showing up, competing, and giving it their all. Watching them challenge themselves, push through tough events, and represent themselves so well was the highlight of the day.

The sense of community was on full display, with athletes cheering each other on and spectators supporting every competitor. The burgers supporting the SPCA were delicious, and a huge thank you goes out to the volunteers who are truly the backbone of events like this. Their hard work behind the scenes makes days like this possible.

A big shoutout to and for putting together such a fun event and creating a great atmosphere for competitors, spectators, and the community alike.

We had an amazing time and can’t wait for the next one!

Happy Monday!

This weather got me wishing I was fishing.

But it’s also the perfect reminder that our bodies are meant to move. Get outside, soak up some sun, exercise, fuel yourself with real food, and take care of the one body you get. More energy, better health, clearer mind, stronger body. It all adds up.

And remember… it’s a pelican, not a pelican’t.

Stop making excuses and go do something good for yourself today.

There are a lot of reasons people start working out.

Some want to lose weight, build muscle, gain confidence, improve performance, or simply feel better day to day.

But one of the most important reasons is overall health.

For Ryan, things had gotten serious. Years of weight gain, chronic pain, and health issues eventually led to blood pressure medication and uncertainty about what the future would look like.

He was struggling physically, mentally, and emotionally, and there were times he genuinely did not know how much time he had left if things continued down the same path. Instead of accepting that as his future, he committed to lifestyle changes through training, better nutrition, consistency, and healthier habits.

Over time, he was able to improve his health, reduce chronic issues, and completely change the direction of his life.

That is the power of taking care of your body!

I’m doing the push up challenge as a reminder that movement is more than just physical. Every rep is a check-in. Mental health matters just as much as strength, conditioning, or performance, but it’s the one we’re most likely to ignore. Training gives us structure, purpose, and a way to release stress when life feels heavy. You don’t need to be at your best to start. You just need to show up. If you’re struggling, know you’re not weak and you’re not alone.

Taking care of your mental health is part of taking care of yourself.

Period.
