The Prairie Conference Final is set for Saturday at 1 p.m. at Saskatoon Minor Football Field. The defending WWCFL champion Saskatoon Valkyries (4-0) host the Manitoba Fearless (3-2).

At the moment, Environment Canada is predicting sunny conditions with a high of 21 C at game time. The winner will move on to host the WWCFL title game on June 27.

Watch for players who embody the spirit of sport! Nominations are open for the Lazer Autobody Spirit of Sport Awards for Baseball, Football and Softball.

The Lazer Autobody Spirit of Sport Awards will be presented to athletes who have earned the respect of their teammates by continually and consistently displaying integrity, commitment, and sportsmanship, and who are catalysts in making everyone on the field of play feel like they belong. The award includes a cash prize for recipients.

Nominations can be submitted online at https://gordiehowesportscomplex.ca/awards/ . Nominations can also be submitted physically printing off the attached forms.

A nomination has the potential to become a good memory for the winners like last year’s 13U baseball award recipients in Rylee Lenius and Braxton Boschman.

A Saskatoon Selects squad took on a Prince Albert Aces club on Sunday at Bob Van Impe Stadium. A series of contests were held at the facility in the U15 age group through the day. . . . .

There was some pretty good action at the Murphy’s U11 Tournament that wrapped up on Sunday with games ultimately held on all the Glenn Reeve Fields. The players are still learning the game, and it is great to see them gain confidence making plays. . . . .
