Join us for the SCC AGM Tues. May 12th at the Sutherland Hall, 1112 Central Ave. Use the north door. Registration and pizza begin at 6:30 p.m., with the call to order at 7:00 p.m. Come enjoy supper on us, connect with fellow members, and help shape the future of the club. You must obtain a 2026 SCC membership by 6:45 p.m. that day in order to vote.
This is an especially important AGM. Several long-serving executive members are stepping down after years of dedication to the club, and there are vacancies with no candidates identified for the positions of:
treasurer
secretary
marathon director
recreation director
recreation equipment manager, kayaks, and
webmaster.
We are also proposing some amendments to the SCC Constitution and Bylaws in order to
- Comply with changes to the provincial legislation governing non-profits;
- Require all directors to be SCC members and allow the executive to establish reasonable additional qualifications for directors
- Allow the annual elections to occur in the fall instead of the spring to better align executive transitions with the planning process for the following year
