🍀🧊 Good luck to Team White and Team Green as they hit the ice for the 2026 Female Under-16 Showcase Tournament in Swift Current!

The two squads, featuring some of Saskatchewan’s top athletes born in 2011 and 2012, will compete from Sept. 4-6 in the final phase of the 2025-26 Sask First Female U16 Program. ⚪️🟢

🏒 Under-13 Hockey: Dream Big, Feel the Rush… Together!

The move up to the Under-13 age division brings new opportunities, challenges and ways to experience the game. Hockey Saskatchewan’s ‘Where Fun Wins’ Initiative is designed to help players, coaches and families understand what to expect and support a positive grassroots hockey experience.

At U13, the initiative covers these areas:
🕳️ Recreational Wins: Skill development, small-area games and opportunities to build confidence and enjoy the game.
🥅 Competitive Wins: Information on AA hockey, Provincial Playoffs, Sask First pathways and development opportunities.
🤝 Off-Ice Wins: Resources focused on player independence, responsible social media use, female hockey and strengthening the hockey community.

This month’s Western Sports Apparel & Promotions features an Anaheim Ducks sweater worn by Ryan Getzlaf. 🦆

The Regina product spent 17 seasons with the NHL team, including 12 as captain, and helped the club capture its first Stanley Cup in 2007. It was recently announced that Getzlaf’s No. 15 will be retired at Honda Center early next year. #⃣1⃣5⃣

Moving from Under-9 Half-Ice to Under-11 Full-Ice hockey is a big step. Hockey Saskatchewan’s ‘Where Fun Wins’ Initiative is designed to help players, coaches and families navigate that transition while supporting a positive grassroots hockey experience.

At U11, the initiative focuses on helping players:
⛸️ Develop skating, passing, shooting and puck control
🕳️ Build hockey sense and confidence with the puck
🤝 Learn teamwork and make decisions in a full-ice environment
⭐ Stay active, engaged and having fun
