Allan Kevin Grimm Obituary
Allan faced his brief illness with courage, kindness for family and dignity. Those he leaves behind will remember him with love, laughter and tears. Allan will forever live in the hearts of his loving wife, Karin; children, Dustin, Dayna and Chantelle; grandchildren, Ethen, Jade, Adelina and Robert; brothers, Brent (Sherry) and Blaine (Karen); nieces, Amanda (Adam and Levi), Mikayla (Trevor); nephews, Colin, Kyle and Ross; mother-in-law, Berta Kulpe; brother-in-law, Gerald Kulpe (Hannelore and Kristopher) as well as his aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Ken; mother, Alice; uncles, Robert, Bill, Kenny, Ed, Bert and Carl; aunts, Jean and Bea; cousins, Travis and Mike.
Allan was caring, loving, had a big heart and was always ready to help anyone who needed him. Whether he helped with brainstorming, a mechanical or construction problem, or better yet, fixing the problem. He showed us his love by doing, fixing and helping in any way he could. The boat gave the family many hours of enjoyment with Allan at the wheel. He had no mercy when he pulled his kids, friends or wife behind that boat on the tube. It really made him laugh to watch everyone fly. As well as spending time with family, Allan loved going fishing at the local lakes. He took trips to Manitoba to fish bigger lakes as well as Sturgeon fishing on the Frazier River with his brothers, friends and cousin. Still, no fish tasted better than the local “Walleye catch of the day” which he loved watching us enjoy at dinner time. Racing his cars, working on his cars and volunteering on the safety crew at the Medicine Hat Dragstrip, which he often did with his son, filled him up with the many friendships he made as well as the feeling of helping drivers from their cars when they ran into problems. Hunting and sausage went hand in hand each fall. It didn’t matter who got drawn, (Elk and Moose preferably) as long as there was enough meat for a few batches of fresh sausage. We will miss him, his love for us, his laugh and his smile.

“Rest easy now Allan. We will carry you with us every day.”

Wow what can I say this was an incredible weekend for the Madd Hatters. From 5 wins over the 2 days to 3 best appearing vehicles, sending Riley to Vegas to fight for the world championship and ending it off with the Team Race winners during the Summit Racing Equipment presented by Hoosier Racing Tire Sunday at RAD Torque Raceway

I can’t thank everyone enough for taking the time and coming to Edmonton and representing MHDRA.
I am so proud of everyone and this big diamond Wally will be proudly displayed in the tower. It takes a lot of round wins to be the team champs and you guys knocked it out of the park

The Madd Hatters from MHDRA Drag Strip were the team champions, generating 18 points! The RAD Torque Raceway team finished 2nd with 10, followed by Woodburn Dragstrip with 6.

A huge thank you to all that supported this event!!

Next stop Spokane this coming weekend for another ET Finals and another chance to bring home some 75th Anniversary diamond Wally’s

Well it’s been a busy month out here working on this track resurfacing and somewhat stressful. We ran into an issue once we got the old concrete out of the right lane as the base was not much of a base after 35 years and a very small amount of money we had when we built this racetrack. The base was mud and mostly dirt with no stability. So we had to come up with a plan and how much more funds it was going to take. So we ended up removing 2 ft and putting in proper base material. This project has become somewhat over budget due to the base. The right lane is getting close to done and on Friday the concrete will becoming out of the left and if all goes to plan we will be getting ready for concrete by the end of the month.
I can’t thank everyone enough who has donated through go fund me or just doing transfers. Big thanks to the Alberta government, the city of Med Hat and Michelle Albers who did a huge donation on behalf of Tim and the Snake Pit to match our grant and Murray Hawker who has been my right hand man and the guy behind the scenes dealing with the city and government and our executive for working on fund raising. We will have our thank you sign up for spring. Once again I can’t thank everyone enough for all your donations.
At this point we are looking for anyone who is interested in become a marketing partner with MHDRA and do some name branding out here. Please get a hold of Dave if you know anyone interested
We still want to do work on the rest of the asphalt so fundraising will not stop but at this point we won’t be able to go any further
Thanks so much
Dave Toth
