I am very pleased to offer my wholehearted endorsement of Anny & her beautiful rural property as a retreat for individuals and families who are navigating difficult or significant times in their lives.
Anny has been involved in our family’s lives for more than 19 years. Over that time, she has provided 1 on 1 yoga therapy to each of us individually and has also played an important supportive role in advocating for children with special needs. This has been particularly meaningful for our son, Ben, who is now 19 and has been practicing yoga with Anny since he was 3 or years old. Recently, during a particularly difficult period in my own life following a diagnosis of cancer, Anny invited our family to her property to spend time together and have photographs taken. She created an environment where we felt safe, welcomed, and genuinely happy. As she photographed us, she captured something much more meaningful than simply pictures of our family. She captured a sense of connection, positivity, hope, and love at a time when those things were especially important to us.
At the end of our time on her property, I could honestly say that some of the physical and emotional pain I had been carrying felt lighter. We left feeling happy, connected, and grateful for the experience.
The property itself is beautiful and has an undeniably peaceful and restorative quality. Anny’s gardens, with their beautiful flowers and abundant fruit, create a setting that invites people to slow down and reconnect with themselves and one another. But, in my view, Anny is the true linchpin of what makes the experience so special. It is her warmth, compassion, understanding, and ability to make people feel safe and valued that transforms the property into something more than a beautiful place. Our day with Anny reminded me that healing does not always come in conventional forms. Sometimes it comes from being surrounded by beauty, spending time with the people we love, feeling accepted exactly as we are, and being given the opportunity to experience joy when life feels particularly difficult.
I hope she has the opportunity to share her property and her gifts with many other families.
