Happiness with ADHD doesn’t always look peaceful.😬😬
Sometimes it looks like taking the long way home just because the drive feels good.
Sometimes it looks like music a little too loud, a fresh outfit, a random laugh, or finally choosing to enjoy the moment instead of waiting until your whole life is “fixed.”
That’s something I’m learning.
With ADHD, it’s easy to live in your head.
Overthinking.
Replaying conversations.
Feeling behind.
Trying to catch up with a version of yourself you think you’re supposed to be.
But happiness has to be a priority too.
Not after the stress is gone.
Not after everything is perfect.
Not after you finally become the “organized” version of yourself.
Now.
When I was a trainer, I used to tell my clients:
Slow down, but don’t stop.
And I think that applies to life too.
Some days you move fast.
Some days you barely move at all.
But as long as you’re still choosing yourself, you’re still moving forward.
So today, happiness is the goal.
Not perfection.
