We are saddened by the passing of former Basketball BC Executive Director Lawrie Johns.

For 22 years, Lawrie helped shape the future of basketball in British Columbia, creating opportunities for young athletes through programs such as the U12 Metro League, Jr. Grizzlies, and Steve Nash Youth Basketball. His impact on our sport and community will be felt for generations.

Basketball BC is excited to announce the return of the Youth Coaching Summit! This is a free professional development event designed specifically for coaches working with athletes in the U10-U14 age groups. Join us at the LEC for a full day of learning, collaboration, and practical skill development with some of British Columbia’s most respected coaches and basketball leaders.

Whether you’re new to coaching
or a seasoned mentor, the Summit will provide valuable insights into athlete development, practice design, teaching fundamentals, and creating positive basketball experiences for young players.

Attendance is free, however pre-registration is required.

For the second year in a row, the U17 men’s team is on the podium at Nationals! Congratulations to our guys on a statement win over Alberta to bring home the bronze! The U17 men’s team finishes the tournament on an impressive 4-1 win-loss ratio.
Big shoutout to Head Coach Jamie Oei and assistant coaches Taylor Williams, Ryan Shams and Aurel David for all their hard work in leading this team.
