A Little Behind-the-Scenes Note From Us
I was out and around town today, and a few people told me they hadn’t seen anything about the Innisfail Lantern Festival on social media, even though we’ve been posting often on different platforms. So I wanted to take a moment to explain what’s happening.
Here's the thing about social media these days: platforms like Facebook and Instagram don’t show every post to every follower. Their algorithms decide who sees what based on engagement, likes, comments, and especially shares. So even if you follow our page, you might not see our posts unless people are interacting with them.
Here's how you can help make sure you (and your neighbours) don't miss anything:
Like and comment on our posts. This tells the algorithm that people care about what we share!
Share our posts to your own page or into local community groups
Turn on notifications for our page (tap "Following" → "Notifications" → "All On")
Visit our page directly every so often, just to check in

We’re a small volunteer committee working hard to spread the word, and honestly, our best and biggest “advertising” is when you share what you see! If everyone reading this shares just one post today, we’ll reach so many more Innisfail families who would love to join in.
