1st July:
Progress continues, but there is still a lot to be done before we can cross the finish line.
We received our new range rules signs, and are continuing to work with a surveyor to mark our perimeter lines to cut them to put signs up alongside the 1000m and 600m edges.
In the interim, we can do the following:
• The range rules signs on each range can be replaced, and the perimeter signs along the parking lot area, besides range 1, and behind ranges 1-6 can be erected on poles.
o This would require a fence post driver (one will be provided, but if you have another one multiple teams could operate simultaneously) and a cordless driver. Be aware the areas behind the range are wet bog lands and can be treacherous to walk in – dress appropriately.
• The target stands and props on the range floors need to be repositioned and wood affixed to the rebar of target stands close to the firing point (to reduce the chance of ricochet).
o We have 1x2s to be zip tied in place, but cordless sawzalls or jigsaws, or manual saws will be required to cut the wood to size.
• Rocks must be removed from the backstops.
o This would potentially require long or telescoping poles, ladders, and climbing the faces. Any other ideas for tackling the taller (6m) backstops are welcome.
Anybody who is able to help with these tasks is appreciated on Sunday, 6th July from 9am onwards.
