It’s been over three months since the 2026 Junior Track Champs, and we’re still buzzing about having the newly opened Alberta Velodrome for the community 🚴‍♀️🇨🇦

Since opening, the Alberta Velodrome Association has been busy with community activity. Summer is in full swing: day camps are bringing new riders onto the boards, school groups are rolling through week after week, and the track is booked solid with clubs building the next generation of talent.

Earlier this year, the velodrome reached a major milestone by hosting its first‑ever national championship. Local fans and visiting athletes packed the stands, the racing was fast, and the entire community showed up to celebrate a brand‑new chapter for track cycling in Alberta ❤️🇨🇦

ALBERTA VELODROME SUMMER CAMPS
AGES 11–15

Build confidence, develop athletic skills, and discover the excitement of track cycling in a fun, supportive environment.

Our week-long camps combine Track cycling, movement and games to help youth stay active, build friendships, and explore their potential through sport.

Camp Activities

• Introduction to track cycling
• Dynamic mobility and movement skills
• Court sports and team games
• Athletic development and physical literacy
• Confidence-building challenges and activities

Built on Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) principles, our camp helps youth develop athletic skills, reach important developmental milestones, and build a foundation for lifelong participation in sport and physical activity.

📍 Alberta Velodrome at Coronation Park Sports & Recreation Centre
🕘 Camp Hours: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM

What to Bring

• Helmet
• Comfortable athletic clothing
• Cycling shoes and pedals (if available)
• Cycling gloves
• Water bottle and snacks

Important Information
Participants must be comfortable riding a two-wheel bicycle independently. This is not a learn-to-ride program.
