This week's Coach of the Week is...

👏 Coach Ray Prygodicz 👏

⚾ Team: AA U11
⚾ Coaching for: 6 Years

Coach Ray has been coaching baseball for six years, and his passion for the game shines through in everything he does.

What inspired him to coach?

"I wanted to give back to the game that taught me so much growing up. Baseball and team sports build confidence, resilience, teamwork, and lifelong friendships, and I wanted to help kids experience that."

While many people might expect a favourite baseball memory to be a championship win, Coach Ray's answer speaks to who he is as a coach.

"My favourite memories aren't necessarily about wins or championships. They are the moments when a player finally believes in themselves, achieves something they didn't think they could do, or sees their hard work pay off."

His favourite part about coaching is watching players grow, not just as athletes, but as people.

When asked what he hopes his players learn this season, Coach Ray shared a message that perfectly reflects the values of EABA:

"Effort, attitude, and supporting one another matter just as much as the final score. Success comes from showing up, working hard, and never giving up on yourself or your teammates."

Coach Ray's message to his team:

"I am incredibly proud of each and every one of you. Remember that your value isn't defined by hits, errors, or the scoreboard. Continue to work hard, support your teammates, have fun, and trust the process. The lessons you learn through baseball—discipline, resilience, teamwork, and character—will stay with you long after the season ends. Keep believing in yourselves, because I certainly believe in all of you."

At EABA, our coaches and volunteers are the heart of our association. They dedicate countless hours to teaching, mentoring, encouraging, and supporting our players. The positive experiences our athletes have on the diamond simply would not be possible without them.

Baseball may be played one pitch at a time, but it's never played alone.

The best teams are built on trust, communication, and players who support one another through every inning.

Sometimes the biggest moments aren't the hits or the strikeouts.

They're the conversations on the mound. The encouragement from a teammate. The confidence that comes from knowing your team has your back.
Baseball teaches us that success isn't just about individual effort. It's about working together toward a common goal.

Congratulations to this week's EABA Player of the Week...

👏 Colby Colp 👏

⚾ Team: 11U AA Angels
⚾ Playing Baseball For: 4 Years

When asked what he loves most about baseball, Colby said:

"I like the whole sport and the strategy behind the game."

His favourite baseball memory so far is hitting an inside-the-park home run last season in 11U AA. ⚾🔥

Colby's biggest supporter throughout his baseball journey has been his dad, who has been there every step of the way cheering him on.

This season, Colby is focused on improving his reaction time and continuing to develop his game.

What makes Colby stand out isn't just what he does during games. Behind the scenes, he's constantly working to improve. Whether he's fielding ground balls on an empty diamond, practicing pitching and hitting at home, watching the Blue Jays, or playing baseball on his Nintendo Switch, Colby is always finding ways to learn more about the game he loves.

He's also known for being a great teammate, always willing to help others improve, offer encouragement, and support his teammates when they need it most.

The bats were hot and the team came ready to compete as the 18U Aberg team earned a 24-6 victory over NEZ Beacon Heights.

While there were some great individual performances, this was a complete team effort with strong pitching, timely hitting, and great energy from the dugout.

A special thank you to NEZ Beacon Heights for a great game and great sportsmanship throughout the evening. We wish them the best for the rest of the season.

We'd also like to give a shout out to the incredible diamonds at Rundle Park. Edmonton is fortunate to have such fantastic facilities for our athletes to compete, develop, and enjoy the game.

🏔️⚾ What a weekend for our EABA 14U Girls! ⚾🏔️

The girls headed north to beautiful Grande Cache last weekend and came home with two hard-earned wins!

✅ 15-5 vs Grande Cache
✅ 19-17 vs Beaumont

From the mountain views to the chilly temperatures, it was a weekend full of memories, teamwork, and determination.

These athletes showed incredible resilience, battled through the cold, supported one another, and competed with heart from first pitch to last.

We're so proud of the effort, attitude, and sportsmanship this group continues to demonstrate every time they take the field.

Great games, beautiful scenery, and a whole lot of baseball. Way to represent EABA, girls! 💛⚾❤️

Keep working hard, keep supporting each other, and keep having fun. The future is bright for this team!
