✨ MEET MISS COURTNEY ✨

Founder & CEO | Teacher | 25+ Years of Teaching

Dance has been part of Courtney’s life for as long as she can remember. She started dancing at just three years old, following in the footsteps of her two older siblings, and has been dancing ever since.

Courtney began teaching at 16, right here in Cochrane — under the very same roof Snap calls home today! She later founded her first dance studio while finishing her Bachelor of Communication at Mount Royal University.

While she now leads Snap as Founder & CEO, she’s still happiest when she’s in the studio teaching and working with the kids. 💛

• ADAPT and Acrobatic Arts certified
• Trained at EDGE Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles, Broadway Dance Center in New York and Pineapple Dance Studios in London
• Performed throughout Australia, New Zealand, England, France and the United States
• Performed at Disneyland Paris, Walt Disney World and Universal Studios
• Named 2019 Dance Studio Owner of the Year by Canada’s National Academy of Dance Education
• Recipient of the 2019 Balance Award from the Dance Studio Owners Association

• Led Snap dancers on performance and educational tours to Disneyland, Mexico, England, New York City and aboard Carnival Cruise Lines

✨ MEET MISS ALISON ✨

Studio Director | 23 Years at Snap

Alison’s dance journey began at age six after watching her older cousin dance. She trained with the Drewitz family in Saskatchewan and at Dancentral Studio in Red Deer — and 23 years ago, her path brought her to Snap! 💛

With over two decades of teaching experience, Alison brings an incredible combination of dance education, leadership and heart to our studio.

✨ A few highlights:
• Trained in New York with New York City Dance Alliance
• ADAPT Jazz & Tap Certified
• Acrobatic Arts Certified
• Calgary Stampeder Outrider from 2007–2010
• Founding member of the Canadian Football League Cheerleader Alumni Organization
• Voted Cochrane Eagle’s Best Teacher
• Recipient of numerous choreography awards
• Bachelor’s Degree in Communications (Public Relations) and Human Resources

Her why? 💛
As a shy child, dance was the place where Alison felt most confident and most like herself. Today, she wants every dancer she teaches to experience that same feeling.

“My goal is to make every dancer feel seen, valued and supported, while challenging them to become the best dancer and person they can be. I want our dancers to have a place where they can find their voice, build confidence, take risks and discover the joy that comes from moving and creating.”

✨Meet our September Whipper Snappers✨

Lachlyn is 5 years old and has been dancing for 2 years. This season she is part of our Jr Snappers with Miss Kelli and Miss Anja, and her favourite style is tap! She loves dance because “it’s FUN” and she loves getting to move her body. Her favourite skill is a shuffle hop step, and one of the biggest things dance has taught her is to work hard. Well done, Lachlyn! 💛

At 9 years old, Danica has already been dancing for 6 years. This season she is part of our Spark Intensive Team. Her favourite styles are tap because she loves the sound it makes, and jazz because she loves learning combos. Danica says she loves dance because she gets to be on stage, perform and be part of a team. One of the most important things dance has taught her is to never give up and always try your best. Great work, Danica! 🧡

Maddy is 15 years old and has been dancing for 5 years. This season she is training in Jazz, Ballet, Stretch & Strength and Tap. Her favourite style is tap because she loves that it gives dancers the freedom to bring their own personality and style into the movement. Maddy loves dance because she is always learning something new and feels like every class gives her a chance to grow. Dance has also taught her more about how the human body works, including the muscles and how important it is to take care of them. Congrats, Maddy! ❤️

Nalah has been dancing for 13 years and is part of our Dazzle Team, training in tap, jazz, contemporary, musical theatre and ballet. Tap has always been one of her favourite styles because she loves the challenge of new rhythms and musicality, but contemporary has become equally special, giving her the chance to tell a story through movement. Nalah loves dance because it gives her a way to express herself, escape the stresses of everyday life and spend time with the friends who have become such an important part of her dance journey. Most of all, dance has taught her how to give and receive love, and that family doesn’t always have to be through blood. Well done, Nalah! 💕

On National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, and the families and communities who continue to carry their stories.

As a dance community, we believe in creating a place where every child feels safe, valued, and included.

Today, we wear orange, we remember, and we commit to continuing to learn.
