Another massive weekend at the Oval. 💥

We proudly hosted the 2026 Judo National Championships this past weekend — welcoming more than 1,100 athletes from across Canada. 🥋🇨🇦

This is exactly why the Oval exists.

World-class facilities. National-level events. Thousands of visitors. Unmatched atmosphere. And another major championship delivered right here in Calgary.

From Olympic legacy to hosting the biggest events in Canadian sport, the Oval continues to prove why it remains one of the most important sport and event facilities in the country.

Big event. Big energy. Big win for Calgary.

This past weekend, the Olympic Oval had a different kind of horsepower on display 🏁

We were thrilled to welcome back the Driven Aftermarket Car Show—one of our longest-running clients, with over 20 years of showcasing Calgary’s hottest aftermarket vehicles right here in our building.

With 450+ cars on display, the Oval was packed with everything from sleek and shiny to seriously fast (furious?… we’ll leave that Vin Diesel😉).

What makes this event so special isn’t just the cars—it’s the community. Year after year, Driven continues to bring together enthusiasts, builders, and fans for a weekend that transforms the Oval into something completely different.

From ice to engines, it’s always exciting to see our space evolve and host events that fuel passion in all its forms.

The Oval goes from ZERO to SIXTY in 3.5 —Already looking forward to the next one. 🚗💨

This past weekend, something pretty special rolled into the Olympic Oval… and it wasn’t on blades.

SUPERTRAIN 2026 took over the Oval — and with it, thousands of visitors, families, hobbyists, and curious Calgarians. Canada’s largest model train show filled the space wall-to-wall with intricate layouts, creativity, and pure joy. ()

Tiny trains. Massive imagination. And a reminder of just how versatile this space really is.

From Olympic athletes chasing milliseconds…
to kids (and adults) chasing model trains through miniature cities.

Same building. Completely different kind of magic.

Proud to be part of a facility that continues to evolve, surprise, and serve our city in more ways than people expect.

Canada’s largest model train show returned to Calgary Saturday.

If you walked into the Oval this weekend… you probably did a double take.

No ice. No blades. Just a full basketball takeover.

Every spring, the ice comes out—and just like that, the Olympic Oval transforms. This weekend, it’s Alley-Oop Basketball bringing the noise.

Because we’ve never just been a speed skating venue.

We’re built to adapt. To evolve. To host it all.

Every kid. Every background. 19 courts.

It’s loud. Fast. Electric.

This is what a multi-sport facility actually looks like.

Basketball is here. And we’re loving every second of it.

Be honest… how many places let you put your logo on the ice in a space like this?

As part of UCalgary’s 60th, we’re doing something a little different at the Olympic Oval this season:

👉 We’re filling the ice.

We’re opening up a limited number of logo placements and inviting not just faculties and departments—but local Calgary businesses—to be part of it.
And no—we’re not the Saddledome. That's kinda the point.

But we are a space used constantly by students, families, athletes, and the broader community. It’s real, it’s visible, and it shows up day in and day out.

If you’re a local business looking for something a little different (and honestly… a little cooler than the usual), this might be worth a look.

Spots are limited, so if this sparks even mild curiosity, feel free to reach out.
Let’s make the ice feel like Calgary.

Beakers. Brains. Big ideas.

From April 10–12, the Olympic Oval had a different kind of energy as we hosted the Calgary Youth Science Fair—and it did not disappoint.

Hundreds of students filled the Oval with creativity, curiosity, and some seriously impressive projects. From innovative experiments to “how is a Grade 6 student already this smart?” moments… it was inspiring to see.

We’re proud to be a place where excellence shows up in many forms—not just on the ice.

A big thank you to the students, teachers, organizers, and volunteers who made the weekend such a success.

Already looking forward to next year.
