ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT | CHLOE HERMAN ⛸️💙

Four years.

That’s how long Chloe has been showing up, putting in the work, and trusting the process at ASP.

And the results continue to speak for themselves:

For a figure skater, these aren’t just numbers.

Over the past several months, Maria has continued to show up, put in the work, and trust the process.

🥇Stroller and Stroller PB for the King and I!
Run! 🏃‍♂️🧁

Julian and I had an absolute blast and were fortunate enough to take home 1st place in the stroller division, along with setting a new stroller personal best on our way to the finish line!

A special shoutout to Brooklyn, who joined us for the first half of the race in her very first 5K event. She stepped outside her comfort zone, embraced the challenge, and did exceptionally well. We couldn’t be prouder of her effort and courage today.

Finally, a huge thank you to Lee and the crew at Halifax Road Hammers for the coaching, guidance, and support to start 2026 as I work toward Toronto Half Marathon this October.

Days like today are a reminder that running is about so much more than times and results. It’s about family, community, growth, and creating memories that last a lifetime.

FINAL 3 SPOTS UP FOR GRABS.

To say I’m grateful would be an understatement.

Less than 24 hours after reopening ASP enrollment, 7 of the 10 available athlete spots have already been claimed.

That leaves:

🔹 2 Junior High Spots
🔹 1 High School Spot

Thank you to the athletes and families who continue to trust Atlantic Sports Performance with such an important part of their development journey.

The response reminds me why we’ve always chosen to stay intentionally small.

ASP isn’t built around volume. It’s built around relationships, coaching, accountability, and creating an environment where athletes are truly known.

A quick clarification: these are not “summer-only” memberships.

These are standard ASP memberships that continue beyond the summer months and into the fall season and beyond. I have simply reopened enrollment and currently have a limited number of spots available.

Once these final 3 spots are filled, enrollment will close again.

SUMMER IS HERE. ☀️💧

If you’re waiting until you’re thirsty to drink, you’re already behind.

One of the biggest performance killers I see every summer isn’t speed, strength, talent, or fitness…

It’s dehydration.

As temperatures climb, so do training demands. Sport practices, hot school days, camps, gym sessions, and hours spent outside all increase your body’s need for fluids.

A few simple rules:

💧 Start hydrated. Don’t wake up and wait until practice to drink.
💧 Carry a water bottle everywhere.
💧 Add electrolytes on hot days or during multiple training sessions.
💧 Eat your fluids too — fruit like watermelon, oranges, berries, and grapes are hydration superstars.
💧 Check your urine color. Pale yellow = good. Dark yellow = drink up.

Athletes often spend hours worrying about the perfect workout while completely ignoring the simplest recovery tool available.

Water.

The athletes who recover best, perform best.

Stay ahead of the heat. Stay ahead of the competition.

Hydrate like an athlete. Perform like an athlete.

SUMMER ENROLLMENT IS NOW OPEN.

I've decided to open a very limited number of additional athlete spots at Atlantic Sports Performance this summer:

🔹 6 Junior High Athletes🔹 4 High School Athletes

That's it.

ASP has never been about filling a room. It's about building a culture.

A place where athletes are known, challenged, supported, and held to a standard. Keeping our community small allows us to coach with intention and build meaningful relationships with every athlete who walks through our doors.

If you're serious about becoming faster, stronger, more resilient, and more confident heading into your next season, now is the time.

Once these 10 spots are filled, enrollment will close again for the summer.

I will not be opening additional spaces.

Just a quick note from me.

I’ve noticed a few athletes using the track and field outside of scheduled ASP sessions.

I absolutely love seeing athletes take initiative and look for extra opportunities to train. That mindset is part of what makes our community special.

That said, please remember that the HB Studios Sports Centre tracks all track and field usage, and ASP is billed for those times accordingly.

Out of respect for our relationship with HBSSC, I ask that athletes please check with me before using the track or field under the ASP umbrella.

This isn’t about keeping people off the facility. It’s about being respectful of the partnership that allows us access to these incredible spaces in the first place.

If you’d like to get some extra work in, just send me a message first. Most of the time we’ll find a solution.

🥔 50 POUNDS. 30 DAYS. ZERO SURVIVORS. 🥔

Coach Vince has officially completed the Bob and the Boys 50lb Nova Scotia Potato Challenge.

Less than 30 days.

One bag.

Fifty pounds.

No substitutions.
No excuses.
No mercy.

While athletes were tracking protein, hydration, sleep, and recovery…

Coach Vince was busy tracking:

✅ Mashed potatoes
✅ Roasted potatoes
✅ Air fried potatoes
✅ Breakfast potatoes
✅ Potatoes disguised as “recovery nutrition”

At ASP, we believe in leading from the front.

Some coaches demonstrate discipline through marathon training.

Some through early mornings.

Some through years of consistent habits.

And some through the relentless pursuit of consuming an entire 50lb bag of Nova Scotia potatoes before it sprouts.

Mission accomplished.

The lesson?

Goals don’t care how you feel.
Whether it’s a Personal Best, a marathon, a championship, or an absurdly large bag of potatoes…

The formula remains the same:

Show up. Stay consistent. Finish what you start.

Now the real question for the ASP community:

Enough.

No spotlight.

No excuses.

This morning, Makayla Foster ran 2 miles to ASP to arrive early for her 7:00 AM training session.

She completed her entire workout, put in the work required of her, and then ran 2 miles back home to get ready for school.

That’s not talent.

That’s ownership.

That’s commitment.

That’s an athlete who understands that success is rarely built during the moments everyone sees. It’s built in the decisions nobody is watching.

The decision to get up early.

The decision to be prepared.

The decision to do what needs to be done without looking for shortcuts.

At ASP, we talk often about accountability, discipline, and effort.

Today, Makayla lived it.

Talent is not what separates the best athletes in the long game.

They’re the ones willing to consistently do what others are unwilling to do.

Proud of you, Makayla.
