The Government of Manitoba is looking for the public's input on the proposed changes for the Seal River Watershed.
From MWF: "Portions of this vast area, covering 50,000 square kilometers in Northern Manitoba (8% of the province), could be closed off to hunting and outfitting if it is established as a national park. This proposal also represents the first IPCA of its kind in Manitoba and will establish the framework for how future IPCA’s are developed, governed, and managed across the province. The Seal River Watershed may not be in our backyards, but this model will set a precedent for future IPCA’s in Manitoba - it is crucial that we submit our concerns to make sure this protected area is designed to safeguard ecosystems, maintain provincial control, and support responsible public access for ALL Manitobans."
