We wanted to provide an important update on current and upcoming course conditions at Wheat City Golf Course.
Based on an update received from the City of Brandon, water levels and flows on the Assiniboine River have already started to increase, with a steeper climb forecasted this week.
The current forecast indicates the river may be out of bank at 1st Street by June 17 or 18, with peak levels expected around June 21 to 23. These projected levels are expected to impact low-lying recreational areas in Brandon, including areas that affect Wheat City Golf Course.
This is obviously discouraging news, especially after making progress in several affected areas over the last week. As river levels rise, modified conditions are expected to continue and further adjustments may be required depending on how the property is impacted.
While holes remain modified, we will continue offering our Green Fee Special of $36.50.
Our team and grounds crew take a great deal of pride in this property and are doing everything we can to protect the golf course, keep conditions improving where possible, and communicate updates as clearly as we can.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support.
