After 11 years in business, we officially have our very first retiree. š¤ Rachelle Noa, Trainer #01, has retired from The Fitness Lab.
Rachelle was part of my journey long before The Lab was ever The Lab. From the early days of my career at the rec centre to bootcamps, she had been a loyal client for years and had always expressed how important fitness was to her. She had even completed her personal training certification simply for her own knowledge.
In 2015, The Fitness Lab had been open for about five months when I was supposed to leave for a weekend to attend one of my best friendās stags. I was still doing everything myself and felt guilty leaving my clients without the consistency they deserved.
Naturally, I thought of Rachelle.
I asked if she would cover my classes for the weekend. She agreed and was excited for the opportunityāand that one weekend became the beginning of an incredible career as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer. She instantly fell in love with it and never looked back.
What makes Rachelleās journey even more special is everything she overcame along the way. Rachelle stepped into this role despite being legally blind. She mastered the layout of the gym, learned to recognize people and developed her own unique way of teaching and safely navigating a busy gym environment.
She is also a kidney donor recipient and has embodied resilience and perseverance in everything she does.
Rachelle has shown all of us that limitations donāt have to define whatās possible.
Thank you, Rachelle, from the bottom of my heart for taking a chance on me all those years ago and for helping build this brand from the very beginning.
We truly are a gym for everyone because of you.
Thank you, Rachelle. š¤
