Hosted at the clubrooms. A Zoom link will also be shared closer to the date for anyone who can't make it in person.

All Committee of Management positions will be declared vacant and elections held for the next 12 months. If you're interested in getting involved, the nomination form is attached. Nominations close 22 June.

We also have sub-committee spots available (Bob Milne Fund, Life Members, Women's Program, Junior, Activities) so have a look at the form if any of those interest you.

The 2025/26 Annual Report will be published on the website on Monday 22 June.

Footy will be on the screen and the bar open after the meeting so come down and have a drink either way.

In baseball, legends aren’t always holding the bat.

Sometimes they’re holding the pencil, knowing exactly what mattered and making every innings count.

Beryl made a career of making it count, and we’re proud to call her part of the Newport family.

Beryl Bunting is our next Baseball Victoria Hall of Fame inductee! 🎉

As a key figure in baseball scoring and the first woman to be awarded Baseball Victoria life membership, Beryl's hard work has earned her a place in the Hall of Fame. 👏

Our Hall of Fame evening is coming up on Wednesday 20 May. Follow along on our socials to read about the rest of our inductees. 🙌

Cheers to 'Twinkles’

Reminder to all members, past players and friends that Twinkles’ Celebration of Life will be held this Saturday 9 May from 2:00pm at Newport Baseball Club.

All are welcome as we come together to remember and celebrate a much-loved member of the Rams family.

Grounds Update – Important Notice for All Members

Newport Baseball Club would like to advise all players and members that Hobsons Bay City Council has recently completed significant works across our playing surfaces scarifying all infield and outfield areas.

As a result, the following closures are now in place:

Both D1 & D2 are closed until at least August
Malthouse Field is closed for at least the next 6 weeks, at which point it will be reviewed

During this period, the only areas available for training are:

Bob Shed
Deep outfield areas

In addition:

No warming up is permitted behind 1B on D2 or behind 3B on D2 as these are heavy traffic areas so will need time to recover.
These restrictions are necessary to allow the grounds to properly recover and to ensure we get the full benefit of the works undertaken.

We acknowledge and sincerely thank Hobsons Bay City Council for their investment in improving our facilities. This work will significantly benefit the club long term.

We ask all members to respect these closures and cooperate over the coming months.

Your support now will ensure the fields are in the best possible condition for the upcoming season.

Twinkles’ – Celebration of Life

Newport Baseball Club invites all members, past players, friends, and the wider baseball community to celebrate the life of Alan “Twinkles” King.

The family has asked that, as Twinkles wasn’t one for photos, anyone who may have photos is encouraged to bring them along on the day or share them in the comments of this post.

The family have also asked if people could RSVP in comments to give an indication of numbers catering please

Twinkles’ - Celebration of Life

Newport Baseball Club invites all members, past players and friends to celebrate the life of Alan “Twinkles” King.

A Life Member since 2008, Twinkles was a much-loved part of the Rams family across both baseball and cricket, and will be fondly remembered by all.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Newport Baseball Club on the afternoon of Saturday, 9 May (time to be confirmed).

An opportunity to come together with Twinkles’ family & friends, to share a drink in his honour and remember him.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Vale Alan King - aka "Twinkles"

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Alan King, affectionately known to all as “Twinkles.”

Alan was a Life Member of Newport Baseball Club, recognised in 2008, and a true embodiment of what it means to be part of the Rams family. His connection to the club ran deep across both baseball and cricket back in the day, where he dedicated countless years as a cricket scorer and a constant presence around the club.

Twinkles was the kind of person who gave more than most ever knew and many of his contributions were made quietly, without recognition — including generous financial support to the club over the years. Even today, one of the fridges behind the bar stands as a quiet reminder of his ongoing generosity.

He was always good for a laugh and never one to hold back an opinion — you always knew exactly where you stood with Twinkles. Beneath that honesty was a sharp, intelligent man, with a long career in banking, and someone who genuinely cared about the people and community around him.

For many of our cricket members in years gone by, Twinkles was more than a supporter — he was a mentor and a father figure. His presence, guidance and character helped shape the culture and spirit of the club that we still value today.

Over the past 12 months, Alan battled illness and made the move from Kyneton to Geelong to be closer to family.

Twinkles will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Our thoughts are with his family, loved ones and mates at this time.

Funeral details will be posted here once known.

Rest easy, Twinkles. 💙
