And just like that Laverton boxing as we know it is over. It’s not the end for us, just the start of a different chapter. Time co strainers and live has pushed us to this decisio. But we will still train fighters and people. Just not in the capacity we used to and the time constraints we’ve had before. Thankyou to everyone who played a part in helping us succeed over the years and all the people that walked through the door and helped eeeks us alive at various stages. It’s been a fu***ng journey and a half and I couldn’t be prouder of the people I’ve got to know over the years and some of the fighters we’ve had and will continue to have

We travel that far cause we know it’s quality rounds and boy did we get what we came for. Doms work rate is second to none and he’s sharpened our boys right up for next Friday night

What a team, what a day.. a most successful day for us yesterday. All 5 blokes we had on performing upto and above their potential. 3 wins that easily could’ve been 5

We’ve come a long Way from where we were, yesterday was a dream and a culmination for us with many having their first fight, their comeback fight, having to cut huuuuuge amounts of weight and still performing like he did and their first fight in a new weight class

I speak for all three of us when we day Sammy would be so proud — this is just the beginning. Laverton about to take over, you can’t stop that now, too much momentum on this train

So proud of this kid .kotsonis

Only 16 months into his boxing career and he’s already swept the novice, intermediate and elite state titles at 86 kilos. It’s Almost unheard of to rise through the ranks this fast. On Wednesday he fights for the Big V state team at the nationals, an amazing achievement in and of itself and something all sportsmen dream of. Representing your state in any sport is an honour and this kid personifies the Victorian way

To do all this, a full weight class up from his ideal weight in such a short amount of time has left us as coaches speechless at times and simply amazed at others. His record ain’t perfect but who wants a padded record anyway? But one thing this kid does is rise to the occasion every time, everytime he’s had a fight where something was on the line he’s performed out of his skin. He’s more than a sneaky chance to go all the way in this thing and the element of surprise is on our side. Go get em Peter!

Remember, luck is for the mediocre my friend. Create your own luck and don’t take no for an answer, I know you’ll represent Laverton boxing to the utmost degree

Big shout out to all the coaching staff I know and love to call my friends not just in this game but in life. .coach.marcos especially.

Also for the opportunity and goodwill after some teething problems when we made our way back to the amateur game. It’s all love, always
