💥W.A Wrap Up!💥

5 nights of racing on the west coast of Australia, with a few highs & lows along the way! 👍👎😅

Burson Auto Parts Australian Title -
Night 1 - Started our Prelim A from P2 & picked up a podium, finishing in 2nd place🥈
Night 2 - Started the Championship A-Main from P8 & finished just off the podium in 4th place after battling for 3rd with 1 lap to go.

Component Specialties Des Nash Memorial -
Started the A main from P3 & was running strongly in 2nd place 18 laps into the race before a racing incident put us into the wall & put a hole in the radiator. We fell back a few more spots after the contact, and with the motor starting to labour, pulled infield to be credited with a DNF & a subsequent hurt motor.

Electrical Group Training W.A State Title -
After a motor change prior to the event… thanks again for lending us your spare Kirby Hillyer Racing & to Richard Hathaway for the use of your shed!
Night 1 - Started our Prelim A from P6, finishing in 4th place.
Night 2- Had another strong run going in the A-Main moving from 10th starting position to 6th in the opening 13 laps of the race, but then had the battery fail on a red light stoppage. After re-firing with a push start, we discovered the car had lost all power on the restart & we were forced to retire to the infield recording another DNF.

Despite some of the results being not quite what we’d hoped for, big thanks to Wingless Sprints W.A, Australian Wingless Sprint Racing & Perth Motorplex for a ripper 5 nights of racing. It was certainly a mission to make the 6,600km round trip, but absolutely worth it to be a part of some first class racing, at a first class venue👌

Another huge thank you to our family back at home who held the fort for us & looked after our 3 young kids over the 10 day period so that we could make the trip work! We absolutely could not have done it without your help! 🫶

Thank you also to all our partners that have supported us throughout the year & in particular to get us over to W.A. We appreciate you all!

This now wraps up our season.
We can’t wait to get back on track for 2026/27!

The final night of the Electrical Group Training Wingless Sprints W.A State Title at Perth Motorplex is here!

We’re currently siting 17th on points overall & with a 4 car invert we will start our final heat race of the weekend from position 2.

With some overheating issues now sorted, hopefully we can squeeze a little more speed out of the car tonight to get a good feature result to finish off our WA swing.

Big thanks once again to Kirby Hillyer Racing for the lend of their spare motor 👍

Not the night we were hoping for in the Component Specialties Des Nash Memorial!

Started off 3rd quickest in our time trial group, won our heat race & finished 2nd in the A-dash giving us a P3 starting position for the A.
Unfortunately whilst running at the pointy end of the field, we hurt a motor in the later stages of the A and finished on the infield with a DNF 😫👎

Big big thank you to the Hillyer’s for lending us their spare motor for this weekend and to Steve Hellyer, Kirby Hillyer, & Andrew Broome for giving up their time to help with the motor change earlier today.

We are now all good to go for the Electrical Group Training Wingless Sprints W.A State Title tomorrow/Saturday night.
Onwards and upwards & hopefully a change of luck is coming for our final race weekend at Perth Motorplex!

Tonight we’re racing in honour of “The Outlaw” in the annual Des Nash Memorial. Des was an integral part in forming AWSR & we’re grateful that our division continues to recognise the history & the efforts of those who helped to grow the division into what it is today.

This year it is officially the biggest paying race in Australian Wingless Sprint Racing history with $10,550 to win, with thanks to the Nash Family at Component Specialties

How lucky we are to be part of such a cool division that puts on some ripper events for us, and in this case Wingless Sprints W.A! Can’t wait to get back on track at Perth Motorplex tonight & have a crack!

Just didn’t quite have enough to get the job done this weekend in the Burson Auto Parts Australian Wingless Sprint Title at the Perth Motorplex finishing in 4th place!

After starting from position 8, we got to P3 in the opening 2 laps, before falling back to P7 around the mid race point. From there we moved up around the fence, threw a few sliders & picked off a few more cars, running in P3 late in the race before eventually finishing just off the podium in 4th. Congratulations to Tyson Martin Racing on an impressive drive to claim back to back Australian Titles, just too good!🏆

Happy with a solid top 5 result to start our WA swing & we now have 3 nights off before we look forward to the next big meeting with Wingless Sprints W.A on Wednesday night (if the weather holds off!)🤞

Next Race: Component Specialties Des Nash Memorial - $10,550 to win - 22nd April 2026

It’s that time of year again when we chase another national title! 🇦🇺
This time it’s 3,300km away at the Perth Motorplex for our 12th attempt at the 2026 Burson Auto Parts Australian Wingless Sprint Racing Championship

Luke did the 4 day solo road trip across the Nullarbor in convoy with a couple of other teams (thanks Broome Motorsport/Hillyer Racing) and arrived in Perth on Tuesday afternoon.

We had a win here at the Motorplex back in 2020 for the W.A Des Nash Memorial race and hoping we can replicate it this weekend to get that Aus 1 on the Vx50!🇦🇺
