In what was the first round of Pro Stock Motorcycles newly formed National Drag Racing Championship (NDRC) season for 2023 and the second time out after taking back over and personally overseeing the engine development program for White Live Fever Drag Racing we couldn’t be more excited to have come home with a tightly contested runner up Christmas tree and have some great data showing fantastic results, exciting us all with this motorbikes potential.
The inaugurate race meeting held over the weekend of October 21-22, at Tailem Bends new Dragway at The Bend Spring Nationals event was awesome with crowds exceeding 35,000 over the 2 day event with over 300 participants.
The track was awesome to race on and only being 5-6 hrs from Warrnambool becomes our new home track for us now.
The weather conditions hampered us with wind gusts exceeding 50km/hr making racing too dangerous Saturday late afternoon and racing was cancelled, this then meant our test run became the qualifying round for Sundays racing format, placing us in 4th position. A positive that came out of this testing was a recorded PB for the 60’ time which came out at a 1.066 seconds, this gave us great encouragement moving forward.
Sunday 1st round saw us run a 7.196 sec pass @ 166mph giving us the top ET time in the first round.
Round 2 was a solid win, and felt like the smoothest and best ride on a Pro Stock motorcycle I have ever experienced!
Round 3 was the final, based on accumulated points throughout the meeting saw Scott White race against us, in what was a tightly held contest won by Scott with his 7.170sec ET and reaction time of 0.032 compared to my sleepy reaction time of 0.233 but faster ET of 7.080. Congratulations to Scott White.
How good was it to see Pro Stock Motorcycle finally running 7.0’s and 7.1 @ 300km/hr in a final.
Well done Tailem Bend for giving us such a killer track!!!
