A big weekend ahead for Oliver Casey as he steps into the ring for his first amateur Muay Thai bout on Sunday!

He’s put in the work and now it’s time to get in there, trust his training and give it everything he’s got.

MEET ROSS // KIDS MUAY THAI COACH

With decades of martial arts experience behind him, Ross brings a huge amount of knowledge to Tribe, but just as importantly, he brings warmth, patience and a genuine love of helping kids grow.

💬 In Ross’s own words…

“I’ve been involved in martial arts for over 40 years. During that time I’ve trained in Karate, Taekwondo and Muay Thai, competing in state, national and international levels, earning black belts in multiple disciplines, and spending time as both a competitor and coach. Martial arts has given me incredible experiences, lifelong friendships and lessons that extend far beyond the mats.

After returning to train with Kael and the team at Tribe, I began coaching junior classes. Seeing kids build confidence, develop new skills and achieve things they never thought possible is one of the most rewarding parts of coaching.

I love being part of a supportive community where people work hard, encourage each other and grow together. For me, martial arts has always been about personal growth, resilience and respect as much as it is about training.”

MEET JORDAN // KIDS MUAY THAI COACH

Jordan brings a calm, steady presence to our kids’ classes and has a great way of making young students feel comfortable while still keeping them focused and working hard.

💬 In Jordan’s own words…

“I’ve been at Tribe since 2022. I had originally planned to become an amateur fighter but I came to realise that wasn’t what I actually wanted.

Coaching lets me stay involved with the art I love and give the next generation a safe place to explore their fears, build confidence and develop pride in themselves.”

❤️ Why we appreciate Jordan

Jordan is always cool, calm and collected, and he’s absolutely fantastic with kids. He’s patient, encouraging and has a knack for helping them build confidence without making a big fuss about it.

He’s also exceptionally skilled at giving you a gentle bonk on the head with a pool noodle when your hands drop… so consider this your reminder to keep that guard up.

MEET AMBER // KIDS MUAY THAI COACH

Amber is one of those quiet achievers who just gets on with it. She’s friendly, hardworking and has quickly shown just how naturally she connects with the kids she coaches.

💬 In Amber’s own words…

“Martial arts has been part of my life since I was around 6 years old. I’ve been training at Tribe for almost 4 years now and the community and support I’ve found through the gym is something I value highly.

I’ve taken up coaching with the aim of giving back to the gym while I continue to train for my first amateur fight. I hope to make Muay Thai feel fun and rewarding like I’ve always found it to be, while also encouraging hard work and discipline.”

Amber may be newer to coaching, but she’s already proving to be absolutely fantastic with kids. She’s calm, kind and encouraging, while still helping them work hard and stay focused. She brings a lovely energy to the mats and we’re very lucky to have her as part of the coaching team.

MEET JON // MUAY THAI COACH 👋

Jon has been around martial arts for a long time and brings a huge amount of experience to the Tribe mats. He’s especially passionate about helping people push through the hard parts of training and realise just how capable they can become.

💬 In Jon’s own words…

“I started Taekwondo at 14 years old, where I first met Kael. I went on to compete in over 50 Taekwondo fights as a teenager, before joining Tribe where I have trained under Kael, on and off, since he started it in my early 20’s.

I’ve dabbled in the occasional Muay Thai, BJJ and Judo competition along the way.

I coach because I love watching beginners go through the fire and come out the other side as capable fighters. There’s something special about seeing people discover what they’re truly capable of by doing something hard - the same journey I went through myself.”

❤️ Why we appreciate Jon

Jon is always willing to go the extra mile, especially when it comes to helping newcomers find their feet and build confidence.

He’s also a huge part of our fight team, regularly giving up his own time for Saturday sparring, extra training sessions and cornering for our fighters. He’s dependable, generous with his knowledge and always ready to put in the work alongside everyone else.

MEET LIAM // BJJ COACH 👋

Liam is a familiar face on our BJJ mats and someone who is always keen to learn, improve and put in the work. He brings plenty of dedication to his own training while being just as invested in helping the people around him get better.

💬 In Liam’s own words…

“I’ve been training since 2020. What started as an interest in self defence has quickly grown into a passion for Jiu-Jitsu.

Coaching gives me the opportunity to do what I love most; helping people grow and improve to become the best version of themselves. Whether it’s guiding a complete beginner through their first class or helping a more experienced student break through a plateau, I love the puzzle and problem solving BJJ presents on a daily basis.”

❤️ Why we appreciate Liam

Liam loves a challenge and is always looking for ways to push himself and those around him to improve. He’s constantly encouraging others to train and is usually the one organising an extra session when apparently the scheduled classes just aren’t enough.

Liam is a dedicated coach, a great training partner and someone who genuinely wants to see the people around him succeed.

MEET BRODIE // MUAY THAI COACH

Brodie is a very familiar face around Tribe, not just for his dedication to Muay Thai, but for the way he encourages and supports everyone around him. His passion for the sport and our community shines through in everything he does.

💬 In Brodie’s own words…

“I’ve been training at Tribe for nearly 4 years and it’s been the biggest step forward in my life. The people here have continued to support and help shape who I’ve become and who I am becoming.

I’ve had 3 Muay Thai fights and 1 kickboxing fight and plan to continue stacking up fights while I help others in the gym bring more out in themselves and hopefully see them find a passion in this sport like I have.”
