Good morning everyone, due to the overnight rain and the continued rain forecast to come , the course and today’s competition have been closed. Thankyou for your understanding.

PS it has also come to our knowledge that member Gerard “Gezza” Burt suffered a stroke yesterday and is currently in the RAH . We wish you well mate and a speedy recovery,😃👍🏌️‍♂️.

Attention members please,
Our recently departed member, Tony Scarlett’s Memorial Service is to be held at the WCSC on the 18th of June at 11.00am.
It members can please bring a plate of food - finger food is fine , that will be greatly appreciated. The bar will be open to help celebrate Tony’s life after the service.

Wednesday golf in sunshine and light winds, drew a small but talented group of 16 players out on the course.
Winner of the day ocb on 36 points each was Bret Sando pipping John Vorsty, good golf gents!
Third and fourth place was also decided ocb with each player having 33 points and John Gore’s back nine result give him the edge over Steve Busch.
NTP’s No3 Dale Brusnahan, No6 no one, No11 John Gore.
Long Putt Viv Baker and Encouragement award to Geoff Hill.

Sunday golf at the Wallaroo Golf Club was showcasing the Grand Final of the WGC Handicap Match Play competition over a 36 hole event on the one day.
With the weather an absolute pearler, no excuse could be given for any poor shots , only poor decisions by the two players.
As befitting a Grand Final, it took until the 33rd hole for the result to be decided 3/1 with Terry Hanrahan defeated the ever solid Viv Baker.
Congratulations Terry and commiserations to Viv , a great day of golf and skills.

Saturday’s golf had perfect weather and a course in great condition due to the grounds crew and the very wonderful rains!
Playing today were 29 members and visitors for the John Harris Trophy and the 3rd Round of the Presidents Trophy and a testing Par competition.
Winner of the day Dale Brusnahan with a cracking score of +5, was a clear winner from the rest of the pack- congratulations Dale!
2nd place overall was Kym Rankin on Square with the card ocb from Gezza Burt in third place overall.
A grade winner was Nathan Lawson also square with the card , with runner up Ian Tobin at -3 ocb from Bret Sando.
B grade winner Steve Busch was square with the card and Andrew Scoot on -1.
C grade winner was Wayne Lowe at -3 with Viv Baker at -6.
NTP’s No3 Dylan Grillett, No6 Rick Haase, No11 John Gore, No14 2nd shot Dylan Grillett.

Wednesday golf started on a grey day note but the fined up to sunshine and mild weather.
The forecast appears to have reduced numbers , but their loss for those that didn’t front up😆. Player numbers were at 15 tough souls and tackled the course with a rating of heavy to slow.
That didn’t slow down John Vorsty who came out on top with a solid 33 points followed by Viv Baker on 31 points and then a three way count back for those on 30 points. With Michael Williams sneaking in front of Grant Donovan and Steve Busch respectively for the placings of third to fifth.
NTP’s No3 Grant Donovan, No6 &11 no one.
Long Putt went to Womble Cadd and the Encouragement award to Dale Miller.

Sunday golf at Wallaroo was the 1st and 2nd Knockout Rounds of the WGC Handicap match play. After the sunday before washout the sunshine and medium winds weren’t too bad a conditions for the 8 players that tee’d off at 9.00am.
1st half of draw:-
1v8 was Greg Frost v John Gore , with John Gore +1 after 18 holes.
4v5 was Wayne Lowe v Viv Baker , with Viv Baker also +1 after the 18 holes.
This meant for this half of the draw John v Viv in the afternoon with Viv winning over John with a a score 3 up with 2 to play = 3/2 up. Congrats Viv.
2nd half of draw:-
2v7 was Dave McCarthy v Bret Sando , with Dave McCarthy winning 4/3 up.
3v7 was Terry Hanrahan v Grant Donovan , with Terry in fine form winning 7/6 .
Thus for this half of the draw Dave McCarthy v Terry Hanrahan was the afternoon match for this half of the draw with Terry winning a close match l so 2/1 up . Congratulations to both grand finalist’s Viv Baker and Terry Hanrahan.
The final is programmed for Sunday the 14th of June , over 36 holes, tee off is 9.00am. Come out and watch these two battle it out during the day.

Wallaroo Saturday golf for the Bruce Hann Trophy started in misty showers but cleared up to a mild afternoon for the stableford competition.
Winner of the day with a glorious 41 points was Greg Price - congratulations on great day out. Second place went to Patrick O’Reilly with 39 points and in third place for the day was Sam Clayson on 38 points.
A grade winner was Brenton Jamieson on 37 points, with Brad Jamieson pipping Ian “ Bodgie” Shaw ocb each on 36 points.
B grade winner was Rick Haase on 34 pts and Arron Day on 33 pts.
C grade winner was Greg Frost on 36 pts and John Vorsty as runner up on 32 pts.
NTP’s Brenton Jamieson on No3 & No6 and keeping it in the family on No11 was Brad Jamieson.
Long Drives - A grade Adrian Settre, B grade Greg Price, C grade John Vorsty.
Long Putt Ian Koch and Encouragement award to Michael Bussenschutt.
Next week is the John Harris Trophy and 3rd Round of the Presidents Trophy.

Tuesday May 26th was played in cool overcast conditions. The comp for the day was stroke / putts. 12 players were out for this comp while some other players played their handicap knockout foursomes.
