LADIES DAY ✨ ROUND 6 RESULTS

Our A Grade side came heartbreakingly close to their first win of the season on Saturday, eventually going down 38-31 to the Roma Echidnas.
After a slow start saw Uni trailing 28-12 at half time, the boys came out firing in the second half and began to build plenty of momentum. An unfortunate intercept pass allowed Roma to extend their lead to 35-12, but our lads refused to give in and came roaring back to get within seven points by full time.
The fight, resilience and determination shown by the Blue & White (Pink and White on the day) was outstanding, with the boys showing they can match it with anyone when they build pressure and play direct.

RESULTS
The Uni Ladies 7’s team headed out to Condamine over the weekend looking to go one better than their semi final defeat last year. The Ladies went into the weekend with a 4-1-2 win record, and a very talented squad led by Carla Nobbs and Sasha Blomley. After a win in the Round 7 pool game against a Barbarians team, the girls were eager to make an impact in the semis.

The semi final started off with Uni in good field position, however Rangers maintained possession throughout the first half, and with the run of the green took a 10-nil lead into the halftime break. The Uni Ladies then fought back in the second half bringing the difference to within one score. With the Uni Ladies making a number of breaks, and going down to six players in both halves, Rangers sealed the game in the final minute taking a 15-5 win.

With third place still up for grabs, the Uni Ladies took to the field against Goondiwindi looking to seek some vengeance for their semi final loss. The Ladies eventually closed out their campaign with a 34-nil win finishing in 3rd place.

The Uni Ladies played with poise and tenacity, and although they did not bring home the silverware they will be determined to come back for more in the XII’s competition which starts on 13 June.
