What a weekend for Souths with three senior teams in finals action across multiple formats.

📝Souths were sent into bat and produced a dominant batting display, posting an impressive 193 from their 20 overs despite a few early wickets. With four batters retiring not out, the innings was built on strong partnerships and consistent scoring across the order.
Souths applied pressure with the ball, restricting NBD to 7/165. A standout performance from captain David Elsley with 3 wickets led the bowling attack.

📝 Souths elected to bowl and faced a strong Mets batting lineup who posted 220, despite an excellent 4fa from David Elsley and 3 wickets from Alind Roy.
In reply, Souths battled hard with contributions from Bowles, Sandhu and Gurr, but were unable to reach the target, bowled out for 133. With the result decided on first innings, both captains agreed to end the match.
A strong finals campaign from B Grade, finishing as Runners Up.

📝 Souths sent Highfields into bat and, despite a strong start from the opposition, key middle-order wickets helped restrict them to a competitive total. The chase was composed and controlled, led by a half-century from John Kaarsberg, with strong support from Drummond and Reardon. Souths chased the total in the 33rd over, securing their place in the Grand Final with confidence.

📝 Souths posted 186 after being sent into bat, with consistent contributions across the lineup building a defendable total.
The bowlers stepped up under pressure, taking early wickets and continuing to chip away throughout the innings. With four ducks in the NBD innings, Souths maintained control as the game went down to the final stages.
NBD were bowled out in the 40th over, sealing a Grand Final victory for Souths. A standout all-round performance from Ian Reardon (3 wickets, 2 catches, 1 run out) earned him Player of the Match honours.
🎉 As we wrap up the 2025/2026 season, it’s been an incredible year for Souths both on and off the field. From strong individual performances and team successes through to finals appearances and premiership wins, there is plenty to be proud of across all grades. Most importantly, it’s been a season built on commitment, growth, teamwork and club spirit.
We look forward to celebrating the season together at our End of Year Banquet on Saturday 18 April – a great opportunity to recognise achievements, share a few stories and reflect on a fantastic year.
