The Ladies’ and Men’s Championship singles were completed last weekend. In the quarter finals Ladies’ event – Maree Ball 25 v Merrylea Wilson 16 and Tammy Robinson 25 v Robyn Smith 18. In the semifinals on Saturday afternoon – Pam Moore 25 v Maree Ball 14 and Tammy Robinson 25 v Gennyfer Whitehead 8. The final between Tammy and Pam was played on Sunday Morning. The final was close in the early stages. Pam then lengthened the ends and controlled the game to win 25 shots to 15. The club wishes Pam all the best in the district playoffs at the end of the month. The semifinal of the Men’s Championship was played on Saturday morning and Mark Spiller defeated Rob Capelli 25 shots to 17. Mark played Matthew Murphy in the final on Saturday afternoon. The game was close with the scores level 11 all on 17 ends and 12 all on 19 ends. Mark scored on six of the next 7 ends to win the final 25 shots to 13. The club wishes Mark every success in the district playoffs at the end of the month. A big thanks goes to those people who marked games at the weekend. Photo 2.
Three games of social bowls were played on Saturday afternoon. Cards read as follows – Gwen Blackley and Darren Stanley 13 v Mark Wicks and Bruce Frizell 12 – Game 2 – Trevor Wilmot, Michael Surch, Rod Newlands and Larry Mullen 21 v Bill Larsen, Rod Crome, Joe Straatman and Adrian Jackson 12 – Game 3 – Leanne Mullen, Rocky Thompson, Brian Brown and Peter Smith 23 v Dave Blackley, Vicki Smith, Eliseo Zamprogno and Michael Sweeney 17.

Friday night at your Club
There is absolutely nothing better than a slow-cooked, fall-off-the-bone lamb shank dinner. It is the ultimate comfort food, especially when the weather cools down.

The postponed championship events will be played next Saturday. Draw is as follows for the Ladies’ Championship Singles – 9am Robyn Smith v Tammy Robinson - marker Gennyfer Whitehead – 9am Maree Ball v Merrylea Wilson - marker Pam Moore
The semifinal of the Men’s Championship Singles between Rob Capelli and Mark Spiller will also be played on Saturday morning at 9 am. The winner will play Matthew Murphy in the final on Saturday afternoon.
Eight of our members played at the Inglewood Carnival on Saturday best result was from Bruce Frizell, Larry Mullin, Owen O’Brien and Rod Crome. Coming 3rd two wins and a draw on a count back (photo from Bruce)

Tonight .. At 5pm we were thinking everyone would stay home. This cold wet weather. However the lure of rissoles and bread and butter pudding filled the Club.

The greens were used for singles play over the weekend. Two men’s events were held at the club. The men’s championship singles were played on Saturday and Sunday. The SDMDBA Men’s Singles semifinal and final were also played at the weekend. Results were as follows - Rob Capelli 25 v Jamie Zamprogno 16 and David Stibbard won on a forfeit. Rob Capelli won the final 25 to 5 over David Stibbard. Thanks goes to all those who marked the games over the weekend, prepared the greens and organizers. Photo one.
