Wednesday Rolling (18 Hole) | Only Oates Solves the Puzzle

While many players elected to tackle the 9-hole competition on Wednesday, a small but determined group took on the full 18-hole Stableford challenge.

What awaited them was far from easy.

Persistent rain, heavy conditions underfoot and a course that demanded patience at every turn meant scoring was hard-earned from the opening tee shot to the final putt. Yet despite the weather, the field featured no shortage of quality, including Pennants champions Clayton Oates and Jack Lowe, alongside Treasurer's Cup winners Guy Angwin and Izaak Ziedan.

When the umbrellas were folded and the cards finally handed in, it was Clayton Oates who stood tallest.

Oates produced an outstanding 35-point round to claim victory, the only player to truly get the better of the conditions. In a field packed with proven performers, it was a result that underlined why he remains one of the club's most consistent competitors.

Gregory "Tin Cup" Furney continued his recent run of form to finish second on 32 points, while Torie Mathew battled superbly for third with 31.

Izaak Ziedan rounded out the 30-point mark in fourth, with Guy Angwin (27), Benjamin Small (26) and Jack Lowe (22) completing the leaderboard.

The scores may not have been record-breaking, but under the circumstances they didn't need to be.

Sometimes golf isn't about chasing birdies. Sometimes it's about surviving the conditions, staying patient and finding a way to post a score.

On Wednesday, Clayton Oates did exactly that.

Wednesday Rolling (9-Hole) | Marsh Makes His Mark

Wednesday's Rolling Stableford gave members the choice of tackling either 9 or 18 holes, with a course made considerably tougher by persistent wet conditions.

Despite the weather, scoring remained surprisingly strong, and at the end of the day it took a countback to separate the leading pair.

New member Tim Marsh claimed his first Teven Golf Club competition victory after posting an excellent 20-point round. Tim was pushed all the way by Tom Woolley, who matched the score but was ultimately denied by the countback system.

For any member, a first competition win is a memorable milestone. To achieve it in challenging conditions and under pressure makes it all the sweeter. Congratulations to Tim on getting his first Teven victory on the board.

Barry Burgess was never far away, finishing just one point behind the leaders on 19 points, while Michael Leslie continued his consistent form with 17.

Michael Crummy and Luke Saad shared fifth place on 16 points, followed by George Haydon, Karen Sullivan and Julie Haydon, who each battled their way to 14 points.

Rounding out the leaderboard was Lizzie Edwards with 12 points after another determined effort in conditions that often-demanded patience more than power.

With the weather continuing to test players throughout the week, Wednesday's field once again proved that Teven golfers are made of sturdy stuff.

And for Tim Marsh, it was a day he won't forget anytime soon.

Matchplay Championship | Pool Matches Update

Another batch of results has landed as the 2026 Teven Matchplay Championship continues to gather momentum.

With pool matches now well underway, the race for qualification is beginning to take shape. Some players have put themselves in strong positions early, while others still have plenty of work to do before the pool stage concludes on 21 June.

Remember, every match matters. Three points for a win, one point for a draw, and only the strongest performers will progress to the knockout rounds.

Tuesday Shotgun | Porter Prevails in the Rain

The forecast wasn't exactly inviting, but that didn't stop Teven's Tuesday regulars from rolling through the gates for another Black Tee Stableford Shotgun.

With showers drifting across the course and conditions far from ideal, the usual suspects pulled on the rain gear, loaded the umbrellas and got on with the job. As they often do, the golfers who braved the conditions were rewarded with a cracking afternoon of competition.

At the top of the leaderboard, Wayne Porter and Mathew Crook could not be separated, both posting impressive rounds of 21 points. When the countback was applied, it was Porter who claimed the victory, proving once again that sometimes half the battle is simply turning up.

Just behind the leaders, Adam Rose, Luke Saad and Declan Kirwan all finished on 19 points, keeping the pressure on throughout the afternoon and ensuring there was little room for error.

Guy Angwin and Anthony Pennisi battled their way to 17 points, while Josh Seage added another solid performance with 16.

Further down the leaderboard, Mark Perkins, Ben Harris, Campbell Rowe and Clayton Oates all finished on 15 points, a respectable return on a day where every point had to be earned.

The weather may have tried its best to thin the field, but as Tuesday afternoons continue to prove, there is a dedicated group of Teven golfers who simply refuse to let a little rain get in the way of a good competition.

And thankfully, golf clubs dry out.

Matchplay Championship | Pool Matches Update

The opening matches of the 2026 Teven Matchplay Championship are now appearing on the board, and early bragging rights are beginning to take shape across the pools.

With every match carrying valuable points towards qualification, each result brings players one step closer to the knockout stages—or one step closer to an early exit.

Remember, pool matches must be completed by 21 June, with players responsible for arranging their own fixtures.

The race to the Round of 16 is officially underway.

June Medal | The Road to the Medal of Medals

The June Medal brought together another strong field on Saturday, with players tackling the Black Tee Stroke format under beautiful winter skies and some of the best course conditions we've seen in recent weeks.

When the final cards were handed in, it was Heidi who stood alone at the top of the leaderboard.

In a format that punishes every mistake and rewards patience above all else, Heidi produced a composed round to finish three shots over par and claim the June Medal. More importantly, her victory secures a place in December's Medal of Medals, where the year's monthly winners will return to battle it out for ultimate bragging rights.

A***n Freriechs continued his impressive run of form, finishing runner-up on four over par and keeping the pressure on throughout the day.

The battle for the minor placings was tightly contested. Franki Payne continued her strong season with a solid round to finish third, while Curt Zuber, Nathan Schaefer, Paul Stanwix and Joel Thomson all finished at five over par, highlighting just how competitive the field was.

Not far behind were Mark Perkins, Stewart Scholten and Rodney Sironen, who rounded out the top ten after navigating a course that offered opportunities for the patient and punishment for the impatient.

With the new 18-hole index and green scorecard making their competition debut, the June Medal marked another small step forward in the evolution of competitive golf at Teven.

Another big week awaits, with a public holiday, a new 18-hole option and the return of one of our favourite fun formats.

Monday
It's a Public Holiday, making it the perfect excuse to get out for a game. Monday Play continues, offering a relaxed and inclusive way to enjoy the course, meet fellow golfers and put a card in.

Players will tackle the White Course before switching to the Black Course, creating a unique layout that only appears a handful of times each year.

Wednesday Rolling | Brown Breaks the Deadlock

Wednesday's Black Tee Par competition produced one of the tightest finishes we've seen in some time, with three players finishing locked together at the top of the leaderboard.

Sally Brown, Sam Henderson and Gregory "Tin Cup" Furney all completed their rounds at +2, leaving the countback system to decide the winner. When the cards were reviewed, it was Sally who emerged victorious, claiming the day's honours after a superb round.

Sam Henderson continued his strong form to finish runner-up, while Furney was left to wonder where a shot may have slipped away after falling just short on countback.

One shot further back at +1 were Paul Beckey, Barry Burgess and Sara Hughes, while Stone Cannon, Guy Angwin, Lizzie Edwards, Luke Saad and Josh Seage all fought their way to even-par rounds.

With sunshine overhead and the course continuing to present beautifully, it was another fantastic day of golf at Teven.
