13s West Wyalong Carnival πŸπŸ’™

After a tough weekend last week in Wagga, the girls bounced back brilliantly this weekend in West Wyalong.
They played really well as a team and showed how much they’ve been honing in on the skills taught at training. Their communication, teamwork, and confidence on the court really started to shine through, leading to some amazing results across the weekend.
The girls also embraced the opportunity to play in different positions, creating some great new combinations and grooves through the team. It was fantastic to see everyone supporting each other, adapting, and growing together.
The girls should be very proud of their effort, attitude, and resilience shown today.

There was one very proud coach at the end of the day!

Hugh thanks to Super Coach Caro, the amazing Liz Walsh for umpiring all 8 games and for all the wonderful parents playing their part to make it all happen for the girls.

A fantastic day for our 17s at the West Wyalong Carnival, taking out the Opens Division 🩷🏐

This was our final carnival hit out before we head away to State Titles over the June Long Weekend and the girls should be incredibly proud of the way they competed all day. They played some tough, tight games against quality opposition and continued to improve with every match.

Results from the day:
🏐 Defeated Leeton 17s 15-13 in a hard fought opening game
🏐 Went down to Young Opens 10-6 in a physical contest
🏐 Defeated Young Men’s Opens 15-2 with some fantastic defensive pressure and transition through court
🏐 Defeated Leeton 17s 18-11 with strong attacking combinations
🏐 Defeated Young Opens 16-8 in one of the team’s best performances of the day
🏐 Defeated Young Men’s Opens 17-3 to finish the rounds strongly

The girls then faced Young Opens again in the 1st vs 2nd playoff game, finishing with a thrilling 16-16 draw. Our girls were crowned winners on for and against percentage πŸ‘

Overall, it was a great day on the court with so many positives to take away heading into State Titles. The teamwork, intensity, defensive pressure and willingness to keep learning throughout the day was outstanding. There are still areas we can continue to work on over the next couple of weeks, but the growth this group continues to show is exciting to watch.

A big thank you to all of our parents, supporters and helpers throughout the day. Also thank you to Tayla Kelly for umpiring all day - it is appreciated 🀍

G6 Temora 3 lost to Forbes 12

The Temora U12s had a slow start to the morning, adjusting to the slippery grass courts and facing some well‑drilled opposition early on. As the day went on, the girls found their rhythm, lifted their intensity, and began showcasing the smart play and strong skills they’ve been working hard on at training.

Our shooters were outstanding, working tirelessly in the circle and finishing the day with near perfect accuracy.
Our defenders took on some very tall opponents but rose to the challenge with brilliant intercepts, pressure, and rebounds.
Our mid court players didn’t stop all day - sticking tight, applying relentless pressure, and making every opposition work for every pass.

It was a huge team effort, and the improvement across the day was incredible to watch, finishing 5th for the day πŸ‘πŸΌ

A big thank you to our supportive parents for helping throughout the carnival, to our amazing coach Coach Chels, our super star manager Alyce, and our umpire Nevaeh for keeping the games running smoothly.

U14s West Wyalong Carnival 🏐❀️

Our first game was against Parkes 15s. Their tall defenders forced us to work on presenting for the ball and connecting well through the midcourt. A great start with a 16-8 win.

In our second match we played Tumut 14s. The first half was a tight contest with our girls up 7-6 at halftime. We used our second half to work on using our voices and increasing our speed of play. Our ball movement picked up and we secured the win 17-14.

We faced Leeton 15s in our third match. Their tall defence gave us another chance to practice working around our players and resetting when we needed to. Our defenders kept up their intensity to limit Leeton’s scoring. Win 13-8

Our goal for our second match against Parkes was making space in the circle. The girls brought some extra energy in the second half (thanks Willow!) getting another win 13-6

We faced Tumut again in our fifth match. They stepped up their defence trying to reverse the earlier result. Our midcourt intercepts gave us plenty of opportunities in the circle. Our shooters worked well together giving us another win, 17-15.

The girls brought a great energy for their final game before we head off to Sydney. Our defenders and midcourt gave us a lot of turnovers and we kept building our options to feed the ball into our shooters. Win 13-9.

U15s West Wyalong 🏐❀️

Our Under 15s girls headed to the West Wyalong Carnival today where they played up in the U17s competition.

The girls had a great opportunity today to trial positional changes and work on their game ahead of State Championships in two weeks time.

The team worked hard all day, communicated well on court, and continued to build strong connections across all combinations. It was a really positive day all round with plenty of great passages of play and teamwork throughout the carnival.

The girls should be very proud of themselves, finishing the day undefeated and taking out the U17s title competition.
Results:

V Young 31–1
V Forbes 28–9
V Parkes 23–10
