Hi all,
I am writing with both good and sad news. Firstly, I have not been able to find a buyer for our BASE Studio, as a whole. And as a result of this, BASE will close June 30th, 2024. This has been an incredibly difficult decision, (and I’ve been somewhat emotional writing this!) however, I do have some good news.
I am SO EXCITED to let you know that I have found a home for our BIKES. Annie Nichols from The Physio Shed will be taking ownership of our RPM Studio, adding it into her Physio and Pilates space. This is sooo exciting, and something that is going to compliment both the bikes and the physio/pilates space. More information on this to come - but essentially, WOHOO!
While I am so sad that our studio will close, and there won’t be a place for PUMP or GRIT in town, I am grateful for the continuation of RPM at The Physio Shed.
The facts:
BASE will close on June 30th.
1️⃣ You will have until June 30th to use up your passes.
These will not be reimbursed for money - so please get booking. There are plenty of classes for you to book into between now and the end of June.
2️⃣ If you are a member - your memberships will continue to be direct debited until Monday 24th June. This will be your last payment.
- If you use a banking app for your direct debit (this is most members who joined before October last year) you will need to MANUALLY delete this direct debit after 24th June. Don’t worry, I will remind you.
- If you are a member who uses STRIPE - your deletion will be automatically done.
3️⃣ You can still purchase pass packs up until June 24th, but please be mindful of how many passes you purchase as they will not be reimbursed.
4️⃣ Coaches Lou, Mark, Brooke and Gee will continue teaching RPM at the Physio Shed.
5️⃣ The timetable will stay essentially the same
- Apart from Friday 6.30am which will be dropped due to a Pilates clash.
6️⃣ More information to come about how to book into these classes - but it will be using MINDBODY.
- The Physio Shed’s prices are the same as BASE, however there is no membership option.
Where to from here?
💪 My biggest disappointment in all this is for the people who have found their feet, and love BODYPUMP. I am so sorry I couldn’t keep this alive for you.
💪 We have the most passionate, inspiring and authentic coaches in BODYPUMP and I know that not having these classes and seeing these faces is a huge blow.
HOW CAN YOU KEEP UP THE PUMP MOMENTUM?
While I cannot keep PUMP alive for you in Temora, I do offer solutions for you to keep up your routine, and stay on the path you have begun:
I am selling all the BODYPUMP sets for $600 each. These retail for $990 each, and as you know, are the best on the market. 1 set will include:
- 1 x bench and 4 x risers, Smart tech bar, 2 x 1kg weight plates, 2 x 2.5kg weight plates, 2 x 5kg weight plates.
- I will also include 1 x CORE band
- I also have 10kg weight plates for sale - please reach out to me if you would like to purchase some of these.
This will be everything you need to complete BODYPUMP, CORE, GRIT and BodyStep at home - and while nothing compares to our instructors Brooke, Craig and Alana there is Les Mills+ which is an online streaming platform you can use.
Please reach out if you would like me to put a PUMP set aside for you - I predict these to go quick so first in, best dressed.
Les Mills +:
- This is an online workout platform where you can access ALL of Les Mills’ programs, including BodyPump, GRIT and CORE.
- The programs are delivered via video and you can stream any program, any release, any time. You can also download different releases if you will be out of service etc.
- The videos are of the highest quality - they are actually the ones we as instructors use to learn releases.
- The cost is $24.95 a month - you can cancel anytime.
- I don’t receive any kickbacks for this but just want to provide a solution for you so you can keep your strength up.
- Find more info here: https://try.lesmillsondemand.com
Accountability:
- I know the biggest thing about exercise for me has always been accountability, the knowledge that when I book a class the instructor expects me to turn up, and in turn I do. If you are concerned about losing some accountability and therefore momentum, I have a solution for you.
- If you have found your routine and a time that suits you - say that is Friday 9.30am PUMP, then KEEP this routine. Show up in your living room on Friday at 9.20am, get your Program on your TV or iPad and do the class.
- Message a friend and create a pact together - if your regular class was Monday 5.30pm PUMP, then continue this - meet at your friend’s house and get it done.
Don’t let BASE closing stop you from your health and wellness goals and your love for Les Mills.
FINISH WITH A BANG: save the date 🎉
Join me and the coaches for a final hurrah Saturday 29th June, for drinks (not for me hahaha) and nibbles, a chance to chat and make plans and to celebrate my wonderful coaches and you wonderful clients.
More details to come but I hope you can make it.
Finally - thank you. 🙏
Thank you to my amazing coaches; Brooke, Lou, Mark, Craig, Alana, Bridie, Megs, Amber and Julie. You have been the best in the biz - passionate, enthusiastic and hilarious, working with you and creating this team has been one of the biggest privileges of this whole journey. To see you flourish in this role, to see you become the highest quality coaches - I am beyond proud of you all and so glad you are my friends as well as my staff. Thank you for saying yes to me; I have always believed in you all, and I hope you see yourselves now as I do.
Thank you to the members and clients who have been with us every step of the way - you are the reason we do what we do. The reason we listen to RPM and PUMP music instead of podcasts, the reason we show up week in, week out. All of this, is because of you.
I have loved getting to know you all, and holding a special place in each of your journeys of self care. The transformations we have witnessed, physically but also with confidence and ability - has been such a gift.
Thank you for trusting us - we are so glad you did. I am sorry the journey changes from here - but it isn’t over.
You have everything within you to keep showing up. Do not let this little change deter you. You’ve done the hardest work after all.
And thank you to my family - Mark, Maggie, Harriet and Bump. I went on this journey to be a better wife and mother, and I know undoubtably that I am better because of BASE. Thank you for supporting me Mark, always. From the fans that needed fixing, to lots of other odd jobs. You let me do my thing, and never questioned my ideas. I so appreciate that you were with me every step of the way.
My baby girls - I am so glad I am not the same woman I was 6 years ago. You are the reason I bought BASE in the first place and I have worked hard to be a role model you deserve - someone who loves fitness and embraces body positivity. That does not end here - but continues, and I will keep striving to be the role model you deserve.
But now, it is time to focus on my baby, my family and me. Growing a new life, and being 100% present in every little step and moment. I am so grateful to Annie that RPM will continue, and that a part of BASE lives on, and that I can continue doing what I love - coaching.
Thank you for your love, this has been an incredibly difficult and emotional decision - prepare yourselves for lots of tears over the next few weeks, not unlike me! Haha but know that I am content and I am okay.
Any questions or concerns, please reach out. There will be more information on the transition of RPM to the Physio Shed, so keep an eye out of that in the next few weeks.
And look out Saturday 29th - let’s go crazy (well as crazy as a pregnant lady can be anyway).
Cheers,
G
