Another weekend done & dusted.

Headed out to BP Dam for a look around and spent some time trying to put together a game plan for the next tournament. It’s always good to get on the water, learn a few things, and hopefully find a few clues that will help when it matters.

Now it’s back home with the boat washed, gear sorted, and everything ready for another working week.

The countdown to the next tournament starts now.

Well that’s Round 1 of the QFFT Barra Series at Lake Monduran done and dusted.

We finished up in 8th place with 1 fish hitting the deck. Even though the scoreboard didn’t totally go our way, it was an unreal weekend on the water. The night sessions at Mondy are something else the stars shining bright overhead and the sound of Barra boofing around you is next level fishing.

A massive thank you to Fa**ss Flies for the Jerkflies, they absolutely worked a treat all weekend paired with the 10-17lb Samaki Zing and 5000 Samaki reel setup.

Big thanks to Paul Allwood & Karen for putting on another awesome event and weekend.

Congratulations to Nathan & Max on taking out the win — well fished boys, top effort. And well done to all the other place getters as well.

Now it’s time to regroup, tie a few more leaders, and get ready to do it all again in July for Round 2.

Unfortunately Merc missed his opportunity this morning by not setting the hooks properly but in saying that I had 3 missed opportunities myself. One fish went on an absolute scream and while trying to get Merc organised and the net ready I gave the fish slack line and that was all she wrote.

A hard lesson learnt but that’s barra fishing. They can humble you real quick.
Still an awesome weekend on the water with good mates, plenty of laughs and enough action to keep us coming back for more.
