🎣 QFFT Wilson Barra Series — 2026 DONE & DUSTED! 🎣

Well, that’s a wrap on the QFFT Wilson Barra Series for 2026!

Unfortunately, we dropped the fish last night, but we had plenty of follows from some absolute cracking Barra. We headed back out in the early hours this morning for another crack of the whip. We saw a couple of big fish, although not as many as we had over the last few days and nights.

One of the things I love most about Barra fishing is the bite, but also those follows all the way to the boat. With the dam being so crystal clear at the moment, you can watch these beautiful animals come right up to the boat, say hello, and then casually cruise off. It really doesn’t get much better than that! 🤙🎣

A massive thank you to Paul for all the laughs, good times and fun on the boat. Sorry I couldn’t get you onto that 120cm Barra, mate, but hopefully next time! 🍻😂

Now it’s time to pack up all the Barra and pull out the Bass gear and get ready because we’re heading out this weekend for the BassCat Elite Invitational at Somerset Dam.

Saturday Update — After Night 1 & Morning No. 1 🎣🔥

Last night we found some really good Barra cruising around in packs. They were a bit spooky and took us a little while to work out, but once we did, I hooked up to an absolute cracking fish.

Unfortunately, after a good fight and a few spectacular acrobatics, he decided to make a run under the boat and snapped me off. 😩

We had plenty of follows after that but just couldn’t get another one to commit.

This morning we only saw around 8 fish for the whole session and managed to spook most of them. Then one decided he wanted to investigate the splash, turned, followed it and BANG — he was on! 💥

A little 98cm Barra hit the deck and we finally had one on the board! 🎣

Having an absolute ball up here at Mondy. Now it’s time to get organised and ready for Night 2 of the action.

Waruma Teams Wrap 🎣

Well, we fished and we fished, but unfortunately the fishing gods just weren’t on our side this weekend! 😅

We had a couple of missed opportunities and travelled up and down the dam, taking in some of the beautiful country and finding some great looking bass. We had fish following and short-striking a couple of times, but unfortunately couldn’t convert them into fish in the boat.

We had 4 bites, 3 hook-ups and unfortunately 0 fish landed. 😩 To make things even worse, we lost the fish… and the lures! 😂

Even though the fishing didn’t go our way, it was still great just being out on the water, enjoying the scenery and doing what we love.

Congratulations to all the winners and place-getters. It was awesome to see some quality fish weighed in! 👏🎣

A massive thank you to Paul & Karen for everything you do to put on such a great tournament. We really appreciate all the hard work that goes into making these events happen.
