Shout-out to our very own Sarah Lange-Richard’s, who not only shines on the netball court but also dominates on the footy field🙌🏻

Sarah has claimed the GMWFL best and fairest for a second time. What a legend 🙌🏻👏🏻

The now two-time Thomas Medallist outlined what drove her to the top of the GMWGL mountain once again.

🦁CLUB MILESTONE🦁

You won’t believe it, but amongst the excitement of semi-finals (and because she’s not a fan of the spotlight) our social media team forgot to share this amazing milestone🤦🏻‍♀️

If you want to know what dedication looks like, look no further than Ash! Today she played her 50th club game for the Stanhope Lions🙌🏻

Whether she’s backing up for double games, fighting through an injury or dominating in the goal circle, she always gives her all. A ripper finals contender, a B&F and runner-up B&F winner AND a premiership winner, Ash is still showing us all how it’s done.

She loves a long bomb, injects plenty of speed and is such a hard worker. We are so lucky to have you at our club, Ash. Congrats on 50 games 🎉

🦁RE-COMMITTED FOR 2027🦁

The Butler Brother’s are taking to the field in the maroon and gold again in 2027, and we can’t wait!

Jack is incredibly versatile, with the ability to go forward and kick a snag or head down the other end to provide height down back. We can’t wait to see what he does next season!

Matt demonstrated his strength as a leader both on and off the field in his first season at SFNC. He bagged 59 goals this year, and as a playing-coach upholds the high standards he sets on game day and at training.

Taylor came on in leaps and bounds throughout the 2026 season on the wing and at half forward. His efforts in the elimination final last weekend were especially impressive, and we are excited to see what he can bring next year!

We’re thrilled to have these boys signed on for 2027🦁

We’d like to acknowledge the passing of George Gemmill, and extend our condolences to his loved ones.

George was a past player, club seconds best & fairest winner in 1959 and a trainer for many years.

Today we have lost a true gentleman and a much-loved and dedicated member of our community.

George was a proud and committed member of the Stanhope RSL, where he gave many years of service and was always willing to share his knowledge, memories and friendship.

His contribution to Stanhope and his dedication to remembering and honouring those who served will not be forgotten.

George was a kind, generous and respected man who will be deeply missed by his family, friends, fellow RSL members and the wider Stanhope community.
